BODI

Ishouldn’thavecrossed that line, but fucking hell, it was so good. I don’t regret it for one second, but this morning I woke up having no clue how I’m going to keep this professional now. When we got home, I fucked her on the kitchen counter. Then I bent her over the back of my couch and ate her out from behind before I fucked her again. After that, my mind went into overdrive, contemplating if I should drag her to my bed and cuddle her until morning, or if that was a step too far. The girl has put a spell on me or something. Luckily, she saved me from that level of awkwardness by just giving me a kiss with a mumbled good night before she disappeared into the guestroom.

She’s a fucking champion.

Now, I’ve been staring at the ceiling all morning, with a fucking hard-on, might I add, thinking about how I really want to feel Kayla on top of me and then reprimanding myself for thinking it. How I wished she was lying next to me when I woke up.

I like Kayla. A lot. But I’m afraid she’ll want more than giving in to our sizzling chemistry.

I don’t date. Dating leads to relationships and falling in love, and that shit makes your brain turn into mush. I like my brain too much for that.

The safest option is to call Jensen and ask if Kayla can still stay with Finn’s friend, but the thought of her waking up in someone else’s house makes my stomach flip upside down. I don’t want to ship her off. I want her to stay. At least until she can afford her own apartment.

I need help, so I grab my phone from the nightstand to type a message, and it doesn’t take more than ten seconds before my best friend replies.

BODI:I slept with Kayla.

JENSEN:Took you long enough.

BODI:Shut up.

JENSEN:Was it any good?

BODI:Shut up.

JENSEN:Then why are you texting me?

BODI:She works for me.

JENSEN:So fire her.

BODI:I can’t do that. She’s got nothing else. Besides, she’s really good at her job.

JENSEN:I have no doubt she’s a great personal assistant to you. LOL.

BODI:I hate you.

JENSEN:Nah, you don’t.

JENSEN:What is the problem?

BODI:I still want her.

JENSEN:No shit, outback Jack. Still don’t see the issue?

BODI:What if she wants more?

JENSEN:What if she just wants sex?

BODI:You think she can separate the two?

JENSEN:She’s nineteen. Not five.

JENSEN:Stop talking to me and go talk to her.

I hate how right he is, and with a grunt, I decide to not waste any more time and get out of bed. When I walk into the living room, she looks up from the couch, her eyes moving up and down my body with a lustful gaze. I lick my lips when I notice her bare legs, a pair of sweat shorts and a Stanford t-shirt covering the rest of her body.

“Morning,” she smirks.

“Morning.” I plop my body on the corner of the couch, rubbing my palm over my face with a big groan, and I hear how she sighs. When my eyes find hers, she’s giving me an unimpressed look.

“Are you here to have the awkward talk with me?”

As much as I definitely feel some discomfort about this situation, her brazen attitude still makes me laugh. “You know you just made it awkward, right?”

“You don’t see me squirming on the couch.” I can’t hide my smile, making me wonder if I can just say nothing and roll with it. See what happens. What if she is mature enough to keep the lines from blurring?

“What are you watching?” I ask, trying to postpone the reason I came out of my room, like a damn pussy. I rub the back of my neck.

“You want to discuss what I’m watching?”

“No,” I confess.

“Just spit it out, Bodi.” Her tone isn’t angry or irritated, but I can still hear some disappointment.

“Last night was—”

“Fun? Amazing? Mind-blowing?” she cuts me off with a smug grin.

“Shut up.” I glare with a half-smile.
