Corner Office Confessions - Page 25

“Would you still like an aisle seat?”

“Please,” he said. The thought of being trapped in a window seat made his collar feel several sizes too tight.

“You got it.” With that, her focus shifted back to her monitor, her fingers flying over the keyboard.

“There’s just one more thing,” Samuel said.

“What’s that?”

“There’s going to be a couple more attendees on this trip, and I need to make sure they’re seated together.”

“Not a problem,” Charlotte said, keys clacking as her eyes darted over her monitor.

“Mason,” he said. “And the new hire—”

“Arlie Banks,” she finished for him.

“I haven’t discussed this with her yet, but I’ll be pointing her in your direction once I do. We both know how easily distracted Mason can be. I thought, this way, they could talk concepts on the way over.”

“That makes perfect sense.” Charlotte’s expression revealed little in the way of her actual thoughts. “We have plenty of upgrades available, so taking care of Miss Banks shouldn’t be a problem.”

“I knew I could count on you.” Samuel knocked on the glossy wood surface of her desk before turning to his office.

“I’ll send the confirmation shortly,” Charlotte said.

She did. Along with a reservation at the Fairmont, his father’s favorite hotel.

With those details entered into his calendar, Samuel began his email to Paul Martine.

I can’t thank you enough for being willing to take on this project at the last minute. I can’t stress to you how specific my father’s vision is for this shoot. No matter what, the following shots must, MUST be captured.

Typing out the details with vivid clarity, Samuel experienced a strange sensation.

He was smiling.
