Jules laughed louder. “Yes, I got it. Penetrates.”

“Oh my God.” Ele leaned over, laughter rolling through her.

Juliana’s eyes prickled with tears of hilarity. “He can really pierce through anything.”

Ele grabbed Juliana’s arm. “No, no,” she said, gasping. “Infiltrates.”

“Breaches,” Juliana countered.

“My breeches.”

“What is going on out here?” Jamie asked.

He stood in the doorway with Meena.

Juliana recovered first, even as Ele continued to giggle.

“Just a little girl talk,” she answered.
