“Come for me, Crystal. Let me see all that beauty.”
His growled words, edged now with raw need worked to push her over the edge with a ragged moan. A moment later he was over her, brushing her hair back, his eyes moving over her face as her eyes opened to barely a slit.
She looked up at the tender look on his face, a look filled with love.
“Baby,” he murmured, pressing kisses over her face as her rapid breathing slowed. “Let me in.”
As he said the words, his leg moved between hers, his thigh coming up to press against her, his intention clear.
“Yes,” she moaned, opening to him as he settled between her thighs.
His mouth came down on hers as she felt his body lift, and then he was at her entrance, gently probing.
“Let me in,” he repeated.
She wrapped first her arms and then her legs around him in response, and pulled him deep in one sweet motion. She felt and heard him groan as he settled deep.
“Oh, God, baby. I’ve missed this. I’ve missed you.”
Her arms clutched at him as her throat closed, afraid to reply, afraid this fairytale was going to burst like a soap bubble, and she’d awaken alone in her bed.
He began to move inside her, with achingly loving care. Gentle, slow, unhurried, every stroke drawn out, lingering over every sensation. And the deep rumbling groan he emitted gave away the toll this was taking on his need. But he maintained a tight control on his urge, she could tell by the tremor in his arms and the tick in his clenched jaw. He was determined that this be all about her.
His body worshiped hers with such devotion in every touch. He seemed completely consumed by her, with such attentiveness and awareness of her in every move he made, every groan, every growl, every whispered word of love, praise and devotion.
His mouth settled over hers, his tongue delving inside as his strokes began to build.
“Harder,” she begged.
“Not gonna do you hard, babe. Not tonight.”
He kept moving in long gentle pumping thrusts as his hand moved between them caressing, stroking. Intent on building her to another orgasm.
His mouth at her ear, he whispered words of love.
This wasn’t heated, rough, passionate sex. This was an excruciatingly tender expression of how he felt about her, how they felt about each other. This wasn’t sex, this was making love.
“What are we doing, Wolf?”
“I’m showing you how I feel about you, Crystal.”
With that, her head went back, and she crashed over the edge into all-consuming bliss. And a moment later, his body went rock solid above her as he followed her over.
CHAPTER ELEVEN
Wolf’s eyes came slowly open. Light poured in the floor to ceiling windows of the luxury hotel suite. The front range of the mountains visible in the distance. He took in a deep relaxing breath, feeling totally sated from last night’s bout of endless sex. He turned his head on the pillow, expecting to find Crystal, her dark hair splayed across the bright white of the pillowcase, his arm already moving across the sheets toward her. All he encountered was cool emptiness. His head lifted, his eyes moving around the room. He turned toward the bathroom door.
“Crystal?”
It was open, the light off. He twisted, reaching for his cell phone on the nightstand and checking the time.
He threw the covers back, swung his legs over the bed, and pulled his jeans on. Then he moved through the hotel suite. She was gone. Along with every trace of her, her purse, her bag, her makeup in the bathroom, all gone. No note. He checked his cell. No text or missed call.
Son-of-a-bitch.
She’d run out on him again. The little minx.
And after everything they’d done last night. He thought he’d made it clear with every touch, with every whispered endearment, with every expression of love just how much he felt for her, how much he cared about her, how much he goddamn loved her. Did it mean nothing to her? Or was she just running scared again?
