The Alpha's Property

And this is why they don’t trust women to run the Mafia. Our brains go to mush when a handsome, sexy man is involved.
*** Eva ***
I sit in the car with Aiden as he drives me home to pick up my stuff. Then he is going to drive me to my car and that will be it, I have to find Summer and he has to go back to selling cars or hunting prey or whatever it is a wolf-man does.
Rage and worry are warring within me. Once I had dressed and eaten something, Aiden gave me a phone I could use until mine was recovered.
I called the daycare centre and spoke to the manager. My Summer had been taken away by Children’s Social Services as an abandoned child. She said they kept her as long as they could and even tried to get her father to collect her and the phone call with him had concerned the social worker even more because it showed discord in the family home.
When I asked her what Ryan had said, tears of rage filled my eyes. I was going to kill that motherfucker; I was going to choke him with my bare hands.
“Eva, what’s wrong? Is Summer ok?” Aiden asked as I sobbed once I ended the phone call.
“He refused to collect her when they called him, and now I don’t know where she is or if I will ever get her back. He denied her and said she had nothing to do with him. I am going to destroy him, the useless piece of shit! How could he do that to my baby?”
As Aiden held me tight and murmured words of comfort to me, I thought about the wasted years with Ryan. Well, that was it, we are through, there will never ever be any redemption for him, for him denying our child and putting her potentially in harm’s way. I will never forgive him for it. He can go and rot in hell for all I care.
“We will get her back to you, I will do whatever it takes to get your baby back to you. I promise my life on that.”
How can a man who I barely even know care more about the welfare and wellbeing of my child and in a greater capacity than her own biological father has ever shown?
It doesn’t matter anymore because as soon as Summer is back safe with me, I am divorcing Ryan. I want him gone out of my life and out of Summer’s too. We do not need him, and we never will.
*** Aiden ***
I can feel all Eva’s anger and anguish, that is how the mate bond works, and there is nothing I can do to help her. I should be happy that she is not in love with her husband, that she has vowed to divorce him and that she wants nothing more to do with him.
I should feel happy, but her pain stops it from happening. For us to move on to the path I want, her family has to fall apart and I can feel the pain and embarrassment that causes her. I can't find joy in something that hurts her so much, not even when I know that once she has dealt with that pain, I will do anything in my power to make her happy.
As we pull into the cute private estate, she directs me to her house, and she gasps when she notices her door is already open slightly.
Before I have even stopped the car, she jumps out and runs towards her home. “Shit, Eva, wait! Stop! Anyone could be in there.”
My heart is pounding as I abandon my car in the middle of the road and run after Eva. My pounding heart feels like it stops when I hear her scream and I almost shift on the spot to protect her.
As I get into the small sitting room I am immediately confused. There is a naked couple on the floor very obviously in the middle of some lascivious activity and Eva has now stopped screaming and is standing there shocked before she bursts out into nervous laughter.
“You have got to be kidding me?” she shouts in-between bouts of laughter. The blonde on the floor brazenly stands up and starts to get dressed. The man pulls on his pants and looks at Eva indifferently. “Are you going to say something?” she screams at him.
“Oh, Eva, stop it with the dramatics for god’s sake.” I hear the stinging sound of Eva slapping him across the face but when he starts to advance on her, I do not stop. I push Eva behind me and square up to whoever the hell this joke is.
“Go on, big guy, hit her and I will rip you apart.” Eva looks shocked and relieved I am here.
“Eva, who the fuck is he? You go missing and then come back like a whore bringing another man to our home?” I feel Eva attempt to get over my shoulder at the scumbag calling her names and disrespecting her. If she was a couple of inches taller, she would have succeeded.
“I hate you, Ryan, I hate your guts. I want my house keys and bank cards and I want you out of my life. I despise you and I want a divorce.”
She sounds strong and sure of herself.
“I never want to see your face again. I will never ever forgive you for the way you have treated me, and more importantly the disgusting way you have neglected our child. Now take your slut and get out.”
“You still haven’t answered my question: Who is he?” Her scumbag husband flicks his jealous eyes in my direction, and I am intrigued as to how Eva will respond.
Eva starts laughing in his face. “What? You’re actually jealous now that someone else shows me a bit of interest? I have just found you on my sitting room floor screwing that slag and you’re demanding answers from me? I will tell you something for nothing Ryan, he is more of a man than you will ever be. Standing next to him shows what a feeble, pathetic excuse of a man you truly are.”
I feel so proud of her, she is standing up to him without cheapening herself or lowering herself to his level. Ryan, on the other hand, starts to sneer at her.
“You really think someone like him would be interested in you? You are pitiful, Eva; you always have been. No one else would be interested in you, you’re boring and frigid and ugly and useless. You’ll be alone forever, you stupid bitch.”
I’ve had enough. I pick him up by the scruff of the neck and with a flick of my wrist send him flying across the room.
“I want her, and once she’s divorced your sorry ass, I intend on making her mine. She is beautiful and intelligent. Frigid? That’s down to you, fella! That’s down to you for not encouraging her desire for you. She’ll never be alone if she doesn’t want to be, not now she’s seen you for what you are.”
“She’ll trick you. She’ll get pregnant to force you to stay.” I hold Eva’s hand and kiss it and watch her as she blushes.
“Good. I want loads of babies with her, I am looking forward to being tricked. Now, she has asked you to leave, she has asked for her bank cards and house keys so give them to her before you leave. Oh, and if there is anything in this house that belongs to you that you want to keep, take it now, otherwise it will be going on a bonfire.”
I don’t let go of Eva’s hand, I keep her anchored next to me to let it sink into her husband’s eyes and mind that he no longer holds her heart or her loyalty. I also want Eva to know there are other men that desire her, and if she wants to pursue that, she will have plenty of options once she loses the dick in front of her. I hope I’m the choice she makes, obviously, but make no mistake about it, Eva could pick and choose, that’s how alluring she is.
I watch as Ryan dons the rest of his clothes and shake my head as he speaks to his other woman in a derogatory way. I am shocked to discover that Eva knows her.
“How long has this been going on, Melanie?” she says to the blond woman who is now dressed but still looks like she could use more clothing. Melanie squirms uncomfortably.
“Since before you got together, he only got with you to teach Luke a lesson, as a bet or a hoax or something. He only married you because he wanted to pop your cherry. He told me he never loved you and that once he was done, we would be together properly. We stopped seeing each other about a week after you married until you found out you were pregnant. We have been together properly since then. I love him Eva, I have always loved him. I am sorry, but I was with him first.”
Eva’s hurt and embarrassment fills me through our bond. It makes me want to rip her husband’s throat out so badly until I hear her voice. “Then I pity you, Mel, because Ryan will never love anyone, only himself. You are more than welcome to him. Now both of you, get out of my house.”
After Ryan has packed his stuff and left, Eva ensures she has all the keys and cards that belong to her. She shuts the front door and then sinks to her knees. I quickly go to her, but I don’t feel hurt or longing for her husband, I feel an empty, terrified loss. I know she hasn’t been in love with him for a long time. I think she had already accepted that she was going to leave him. Her pain now is solely for her child.
“I just want my baby back, nothing else matters, I need my little girl back,” she tells me through exhausted tears. For now I just hold her to me and let her cry out her pain as I plan how I am going to get my mate's child back.
