*** Eva ***
As I come for the third time, I collapse against Aiden, our hot sweaty bodies completely entwined and sated. I feel whole when I am with him.
My entire body glows with satisfaction. Aiden had promised to worship my whole body and he did not lie. I have never, ever felt completion like I do right now.
“Best night ever!” I hear Aiden murmur against my head, and I laugh as I lift myself and kiss him on the lips, nibbling his bottom lip.
I move my legs to one side and go to stand, but he pulls me back to him. “Where are you going?” Him kissing me down my neck causes ripples of desire to continue to flow throughout my body.
“I need the bathroom!” I giggle as I try to escape his embrace again and I yelp in surprise when he playfully spanks my ass on the way past him.
When I come back into his bedroom, I watch him as he lays back with his hands stacked behind his head, and my heart swells with love and happiness. He is mine, all mine, and I am going to spend forever living with and loving him.
“Why are you looking at me like that, Shortie?” His question is simply curious but I feel embarrassed that he caught me daydreaming.
“I just can’t believe this is happening, Aiden. I can’t believe how happy I am, how happy you make me.”
I climb back on the bed, and we spoon each other as we start to fall asleep.
“Do you think the apartment will be big enough for the three of us for now, Eva? Just until the Alpha Cottage is ready. I really don’t want to spend another night away from you. I want you to move in as soon as possible.”
I don’t want to wait any longer either. I need to be close to him, so I nod to him. I am a little apprehensive about how Summer will be accepted and how she will adapt but I want to make this work. I want to give this a go.
“Do I get to use the buggy cars once I move in, Aiden? I can’t wait to drive one, I felt like an action figure before.” He sits up and looks at me with intrigue plastered all over his face.
“Do you want to try it now? You can drive one whenever you want. Come on, put on some clothes and we’ll go for a midnight spin.”
Excitement bubbles up in my tummy again. I feel invincible when I am around him, like anything is possible. I wait for him to change his mind, but he doesn’t, he gets up and puts track pants and a t-shirt on and throws a hoodie at me.
“Put that on so you don’t get cold, Shortie.” Oh my, he really means it. He’s going to let me drive his car! “And I think it’s my turn to give you a piggyback ride, I can’t let Roman have all the fun now, can I?”
When he looks at me with mischief in his eyes, my insides go to mush. I am ready for any adventure with my Alpha, my Aiden. I step on to the bed and call him to me before wrapping my arms around his neck and jumping on his back. He hooks my legs with his arms and holds me to his hips.
“You weigh next to nothing, Eva, I bet Summer is nearly the same weight as you.” I nibble on his neck in response to his teasing, two can play that game!
Our laughter rings out all over the packhouse as Aiden runs with me on his back, and a few pack members see us and look in bewilderment at their Alpha goofing around with his new mate.
When we get to the garage, Aiden sets me down on my feet while he gets the car out and I clamber inside, eager to see how to drive it. The mechanics look the same as a conventional car and Aiden explains that there is no real difference except for the off-road functions for when the terrain becomes more challenging.
“Swap seats and have a try around the courtyard,” he suggests, so I do. In the absence of doors, I simply slide out my seat and take Aiden’s vacated one on the other side. After fastening my seat belt, I start the engine and get a thrill when I press the gas pedal and it moves at my command just like my standard car would.
“Ok, I think you’re ready to take us on a journey, let’s go!”
I don’t know which way is a good way, so I follow the path to the forest that Aiden drove us down earlier today. It looks so different in the dark with the lights from the car casting shadows and the animals of the night making noises, and yet it is still incredibly beautiful. A few weeks ago, the thought of being out in a dark and strange place would have frightened me, but now I feel like I am home.
“It’s no fun if you drive so slow, Eva, you have to give it a bit of welly.” He encourages me in a playful way, so I step on the accelerator and a wave of excitement peaks in my tummy. “That’s more like it!” he shouts in support.
I revel in driving faster over the bumps and manoeuvring on the tight turns. Our adventure is one I will never forget, I feel happy and alive and like I am truly living. I cannot remember having so much fun and it just keeps getting better. Life will never be dull or boring with Aiden and I cannot wait to see what other adventures we can have together.
“Don’t drive so close to the edge there, Shortie, it’s a sharp drop over that ledge,” Aiden shouts to me, but at the same time, a deer runs out from the trees directly in front of our car. As I swerve to miss the deer, the wheels of the buggy car catch on the edge, and we tumble over the steep ledge.
It feels like we fall for a lifetime. I hear myself scream in terror, like the sound is coming from someone else. Summer. That’s what flashes through my mind, my beautiful little girl; how could I have been so reckless? We hit a couple of bumps on the way down before the car starts to flip, and I turn to look at Aiden but he is completely knocked out. I have killed us both, I am sure. I must faint or blackout myself.
When I come to, we are on grassy, flat land, still strapped into the car with the seat belts, thank god they worked! “Aiden? Aiden!!” I shout to him, but he is still unconscious.
I check his pulse and cry with relief when I feel his heartbeat and confirm his chest is moving as he breathes. He’s alive, but I need to get him help straight away.
I start the car back up and I am so relieved it’s still working. There is no way I could move Aiden by myself so it’s a relief I can drive him to help. I really cannot figure out which way it is back to the packhouse, so I head for the first light I see.
When I pull up in front of the packhouse though, I know I am in the wrong place. I have just driven myself and mate across enemy borders.
There are several men and wolves in the courtyard, and they circle the car we are in.
“Please, I’m lost, I am just looking for help, he’s hurt.” A large grey wolf with a scar down his left eye jumps at me and growls until I submit. Then a large, bulky man, with rich copper skin and dark eyes approaches me.
“Why is a human out in these parts and why do you have Alpha Aiden of Onyx River with you?” Despite his menacing presence and tone, I cannot help but feel relieved that he is asking questions rather than forcing me to heel.
“Alpha Aiden is my mate; I was driving, and we had an accident and I got lost. I just need him to be ok. Just show me the way to Onyx River and I will leave your lands right away.”
A tall man with piercing blue eyes and dark brown hair comes to the forefront and the other warriors stand away to give him a path. The stare he gives me makes my stomach sink in a horrible way.
“And why would we let the mate of Alpha Aiden walk free after she has come onto our lands without invitation?”
With no further warning, he grabs me by my upper arm and drags me from the car. I scream to go back to Aiden, to get him the help he needs. I try looking pleadingly at the large, bulky man from earlier, but he looks down, avoiding my eyes.
“Take Alpha Aiden and his whore into the main hall.” I scratch and scream and bite with all my might at the burly men who lift and carry me into the packhouse of our enemy.
One of them whispers into my ear, “It would be easier if you just cooperated. Once he’s had his fun, he will let you go. His father would never permit him to hurt you, it is forbidden to harm the mate of an Alpha without good reason.” That should make me feel better, but I continue to resist because he’s mentioned nothing about Aiden not being harmed more than he already is.
Once we are in the hall, the man in charge comes over and grabs me by my face. “I do like a feisty one. No wonder Aiden has been hiding you away, you are kind of cute despite being a human.” He makes my blood boil and my skin crawl.
“Screw you,” I shout at him, and he laughs in response and lifts me under my arms, so my eyes are level with his.
“Yes, you will be, you’ll be in my bed screwing me as punishment for coming onto my lands with your mongrel of a mate.” Fear and anger fill me; like hell I will. I would rather die a thousand deaths than share a bed with this brute.
The doors to the main hall open and an older man walks in. “You are not Alpha yet, son. Put her down now. You know the rules: you cannot harm the mate of an Alpha. That includes screwing her against her will. I am Alpha Xavier Woodward, and this is my pack, The Moon Stone. What happened to Alpha Aiden?”
He addresses me abruptly and I see intrigue in his eyes. He must be the Alpha, and the brute is his son. There is a resemblance between them, they have the same blue eyes, and although the Alpha has gone grey at the temples, you can tell he once had the same colour hair his son has now.
“I crashed the car and Aiden was knocked out and he hasn’t woken up since.” I choke down a sob as I look over at Aiden, who is still unconscious. I will him to wake up. I need him, and I am scared.
“Call the healers, Alpha Aiden needs medical assistance.” The Alpha shouts to his men before turning back to me. “Have we met before?”
I shake my head at him, unable to turn away from Aiden for a fraction of a second.
“Alpha Aiden is your mate? How did you know if you are human?” His questions are strange, and he’s freaking me out a bit.
“I just felt… different with him, I knew I was meant to be with him.” He frowns but nods at me, and dread fills me as his son approaches me again.
“Junior, do you feel any sort of pull to the human girl? Do you feel any pull to my son?” I am still looking at Aiden, so I am not giving them my full attention. Aiden stirs and I jump to go to him, but the Alpha’s son grabs me again, groping as he goes.
“Aiden!” I shout. I just need to see he is okay; he looks over to me and tries to focus on my face.
“Eva? Why are we in Moon Stone? How did we get here?”
