“What about Cain?”

“That’s a good question. What I have with him is not what I have with Aslanov yet, but it could have been except Cain is the heir to the throne, so I keep being told.” I shake my head disgruntled, my brain and heart at war with each other.

“Nobody said anything about Abe though.” I add, the thought just occurring to me.

“You don’t think he’s in on it?”

“I don’t know. Maybe, probably, but then why hasn’t anyone incriminated him? I don’t doubt he knows something, or at the very least, suspects. You know, he warned me about Cain? I didn’t read too much into it at the time, but thinking about it now… I can see the differences between them more clearly with the rose-tinted glasses off.”

“You wore rose-tinted glasses with the Eveson brothers?”

I snort. “Okay, maybe not. I knew they were assholes, but there is a definite divide between Abe and Cain.”

“How so?” He grits his teeth, and I know it’s hard for him to listen to me talk about Cain, given his history.

“Cain engaged more. Whether that was to be a dick or sexually.” I wince, but Hunter doesn’t say anything.

“Abe was always less involved. He was a dick, but he was largely uninterested in anything to do with me until he felt like he was left out. I don’t know. The man is an enigma. Truth be told, I’ve had my hands full, so I haven’t really given him much thought.”

“I don’t know the guy. Molly never mentioned him. And thinking about it, Cain’s name is usually the one that comes up in the stories I hear.”

We pull up to the gates. I rummage in my bag for my ID, flashing it to the security guard, who doesn’t bother asking Hunter for his. This place can be a joke sometimes.

“What’s the plan now?”

“I need to make a couple of calls,” I answer vaguely, not wanting to worry him. It will likely get worse before it gets better.

He parks in the far corner of the lot, away from prying eyes.

“If you need me, just call and I’ll come running. You’re not alone anymore, Dulce.”

I lean over and kiss him, taking my time, letting my lips linger on his.

Reaching over, Hunter heaves me onto his lap so that my legs are straddling his thighs.

“Hunter,” I whisper letting everything else fall away as his lips trail over my jaw.

“I’ve got you Dulce. You can let go now.”

But I can’t. If I crack now, I’ll shatter into a million tiny fragments. Instead, I reach for the button on his fly.

“Dulce,” he groans placing his hand over mine.

“I need you, Hunter. I need you to just make it all go away, even if it is only for a little while.”

With a growl, he makes quick work of popping his fly and lifting his ass up so he can shove his jeans down just enough to free his cock.

I keep myself braced while he does and then his hands are yanking on my pants, practically ripping them as he struggles to get them off in the confines of the front seat.

We both end up laughing as we finally managed to get them out of the way but neither of us is laughing when I slide myself down his cock moments later.

“Fuck!” Hunter hisses, gripping my hips, giving me a moment to adjust.

I start to move, slowly at first, our eyes locked on each other’s as the rest of the world fades into nothing.

I don’t have the words to tell him what I’m feeling so I show him instead, rocking my body faster and faster as I slam my lips down on his and pour everything I can a kiss.

His hands on my hips tighten as he helps me move faster, yanking me down harder after every thrust until I feel him swell inside me.

It doesn’t take long for us both to come and those moments of bliss disappear, my reprieve over as quickly as it arrived.

With my breathing still heavy and my heart feeling even heavier, I lift myself off him and climb back into the passenger seat.

Neither of us speak as I struggle back into my pants, ignoring the slickness of my thighs as Hunters cum leaks out of me.

“Thank you, Hunter. For everything. Look after Griff for me, okay?”

He grips my arm when I grab the door handle.
