“Are we really going to do this?” King asked. “You all think this is a good idea?”
“Put it to a vote,” Hero suggested. “Majority rules.”
King sighed. “All in favor of opening Sultry Knights for three days a week?”
Everyone raised their hand except for King.
“Fucking ridiculous,” he muttered. He grabbed the gavel and slammed it down on the table. “Boobs and Burgers, it is.”
“Uh,” Snapper muttered. “We do have the problem of needing to find a cook now.”
That was true. Sultry Knights served food, but it was the most basic of basics: nuts and frozen pizza. The waitresses were the ones who made the pizzas when they were ordered, and that was just taking off the wrapper and shoving it in the pizza oven for ten minutes.
“We get a cook. It’s only three days a week. We should be able to fill that easily.” One curvy chef came to mind, though Bristol had a pretty cushy job. I didn’t think she would leave Wyndemere to come flip burgers for horny guys on Fridays.
King pointed at me. “You are the one who came up with the idea; you’re gonna be the one to find someone to cook burgers, tacos, and pasta.” King shook his head. “Fucking craziest shit I’ve ever heard.”
“I can do that.” Though Demon was the one who actually came up with the idea, I would take credit for it if King thought it was me. I could talk to Bristol and see if she knew of anyone who was looking for a cooking job. She had to know other chefs in the area, right?
“What are we g
oing to do about the girls staying at the clubhouse?” Frost asked. “We’re all getting sick of it, and I know the girls are, too.”
“What about some of Leo’s houses? He has to have some we could use for the time being,” Slider suggested. “I can get a call out to him and see what he can do to help.”
King nodded. “I’m not going to argue with the idea of getting the clubhouse back to normal. I can’t tell you how sick of the giggling I am.” King scrubbed his hand down his face. “I’m not even at the clubhouse as much as you guys are, and I’m over it.” He sighed. “Rigid and I will come up with the security plan for opening Sultry Knights and for the housing for the girls if Leo comes through. We’re not saying a word about this to the women until we know it is doable.” King looked around the table at each of us. “If I hear one fucking word from one of the women about this before I tell them, I’ll kick everyone’s ass, yeah?”
He stormed out of the room with Rigid following.
“How much you wanna bet Meg is going to be the first one to know about the club opening?” Demon laughed.
“That woman could get the Pope to spill his guts,” Zig tsked.
“I fucking heard that,” King bellowed.
Zig sat up straight.
King stepped back into the room and glowered at us. “And just for that, five of you need to get your asses to Wyndemere on Monday to help Royal and the baby finish moving in, yeah? Slider moved some shit in today, but all the new furniture for the baby is arriving Monday. You dumbasses get to be Bob the fucking Builder for the day.”
This was one of those times where you knew that King was not fucking around.
At. All.
Zig and Zag both raised their hands. “We’ll be there.”
I kicked Frost’s leg under the table. “I’ll go,” I called.
Frost rolled his eyes but raised his hand. “Me, too.”
Demon chuckled. “I’ll go with them, too. I can keep an eye on them.”
King grunted. “Good.” He walked out of the room again, and this time, we waited a good thirty seconds before we all took a deep breath.
“Well, this is gonna be fun,” Zig laughed.
I sat back in my chair. It sure was.
Sultry Knights was opening back up, and come Monday, I would be back at Wyndemere, where the sexy Bristol just happened to work.
