Changing Lanes (Devil's Knights 2nd Generation 4) - Page 63

His words registered in my head. He was sorry? What did he have to be sorry about? I pushed against his chest, but he didn’t move. His lips were back on mine, and his left hand moved over my ass and grabbed the back of my thigh. He lifted my leg and wedged his body against me.

“Oh, God,” I moaned. “I need you.”

I had never felt a need like this before. I had never wanted someone so much in my life.

The eleven days I had gone without Pie had just fueled my desire for him. But what was he sorry about?

My mind raced with all the possibilities of what that could mean when I should be focusing on the feel of his lips and soft caress of his hand.

“Stop,” I gasped. I needed him to stop kissing me so I could find out what he was sorry about.

“We only have about one more minute before one of the girls come looking for you, Bristol. I don’t want to spend that time talking.”

Neither did I.

We could talk later.

I pressed my lips to him again and completely sunk into his touch.

Words didn’t matter right now.

Only Pie’s touch did.

Pie

“Whoa there.”

Oh, shit.

I knew that voice. I had heard it all of my life.

Meg had just busted us.

Bristol had tried to get me to stop, but I had insisted we kee

p going.

“I’m just gonna grab this box of crackers behind your head, Pie.” I felt Meg move closer. “Just don’t move,” she whispered.

Bristol squeaked, and her fingers gripped my shirt.

“You didn’t see anything, Meg,” I replied against Bristol’s lips.

“Oh no, no, no,” Meg chuckled. “I didn’t see a thing. Not you two making out and ten seconds away from doing the wild monkey.”

A box by my head moved, and then I was hit in the temple with a box of crackers. “Jesus.”

Meg laughed. “You two might want to wrap it up soon. If I walk out there with just this box of crackers and no Bristol, they’re gonna send a search party for you,” Meg advised.

“She’s right,” Bristol whispered.

“I’m gonna just turn around and walk out of here very, very slowly.” Meg turned, the box again hitting me in the head. “About five feet from the doorway.”

Bristol untangled herself from my hold and brushed her hands down her shirt. She turned without looking at me, but I grabbed her arm. “We’re gonna continue this conversation later, Bristol,” I warned.

“Maybe try it in a bedroom next time, and not in between the crackers and applesauce,” Meg advised.
