The Sunset Job (The Rainbow's Seven 1) - Page 59

No logical explanation for it, and Wyatt couldn’t care less.

He dropped his head as Roman kissed the back of his neck, the laughter diminishing, leaving only the sound of skin slapping against skin mixing with the buzz of the vibrator.

“I’m so close, baby.”

“Me too,” Wyatt said, feeling his every muscle tighten, the impending wave of ecstasy cresting just over the horizon.

“Do it, Wyatt. Come for me. Let me fuck it out of you.”

Wyatt’s moan turned loud, animalistic, urging Roman on with “yes, please, more, more!” And he blew, the orgasm shredding through him, his cock shooting out ropes of come onto the sheets, his legs shaking and his hole twitching with every shot.

Roman’s climax wasn’t far behind at all. He bucked into Wyatt, burying himself deep and shooting his load, coating Wyatt’s insides, claiming him, making him his. He bent over and sucked Wyatt’s neck between his teeth, clamping down, his cock still going.

It was nearly otherworldly. Wyatt had to take a couple of deep breaths once they separated, slowing down his heart before it ended up exploding just like they had.

Everything was bright, even though it was the middle of the night. Colors popped, light shone, framed art seemed to come to life.

“Come, let’s clean up,” Roman said, grabbing Wyatt’s hand and leading him to the bathroom. There, they washed up, kissing and teasing and chuckling, the bliss that coursed through their veins making it hard to form long and coherent sentences. They went back to bed, where Roman changed out the comforter for one that wasn’t drenched with Wyatt’s come. They got back into bed, both of them spent in the best way possible.

And then it happened. Like lightning out of a clear blue sky, striking without any warning, hitting the ground and creating a fiery explosion.

“I love you, Salt, with everything I’ve got inside me,” Roman said, looking deep into Wyatt’s eyes, leaving no doubt that he meant the words he was saying. “Every cell, every inch of my soul. I love you, and I always have. I was just scared to ever say it out loud, but not anymore. Never again. I love you.”

Wyatt melted into the words, his body forming a blissful little puddle around Roman. He couldn’t believe he was hearing those words after years of wondering what they’d sound like and years of trying to forget all about them. He’d been angry at Roman, more so than he’d ever been with anyone else. Wyatt’s entire life trajectory had been altered because of a bad decision led by the man with arms wrapped around him. He had sworn to himself to keep Roman at arm’s length, thinking that would somehow put out the flames that still roared between them.

So much for arm’s length.

Wyatt kissed Roman’s chest before shifting back so that he could look into Roman’s eyes, the soft bedroom lighting creating a golden-green illusion to them.

“Roman, I…” Wyatt became choked with a surprise burst of emotion, his words having to work to get through. “I love you, too, Roman. I really do.”

They kissed again and smiled and kissed and whispered more “I love you’s,” like they were kids again, just learning the power of the world, experiencing the rush of sparkles and warmth, wanting it to never end.

“Life is going to be a dream after tonight,” Roman said during a break in their affection. “We can have a date night in Bali and another in Santorini. Watch a movie in London and have dinner in Italy so I could take you up to our penthouse suite where I could devour you until the sun comes up. We can choose to do anything, go anywhere. And we get to experience it all together.”

“Life already feels like a dream.” Wyatt decided to be honest. Vulnerability never came easy to him, but that had changed now that he’d opened his heart back up to Roman.

“Just you wait, Salt. It’s only going to get better from here on out.”

“I can’t even imagine how,” he said. “Everything you said obviously sounds incredible, but I already feel so freaking happy. Insanely so. And I wasn’t expecting it, either. I really thought I’d have a harder time getting over things.”

More honesty, more truth. Wyatt wanted to lay it all out. He wanted to be as naked as his skin was.

He continued, rolling over so Roman’s arm was under his head, his gaze tilted up at the dark ceiling. “I’m not great with letting go of grudges, you know that. But I’m kind of realizing that I never really had a grudge toward you. Not in the way I thought I had. There wasn’t any hate or anger or resentment being aimed toward you… it was just sadness. Sad that things fell apart, sad that we didn’t work out, sad that my life was turning out the way it was. And then I became full of questions, not just the whys or the what-ifs, but ‘how is he?’ and ‘is he okay?’”
