Why Did It Have To Be You?

He answers the call. “Hey man, what’s up?”
I can hear Jason’s voice booming through the phone. He sounds upset but then Brian lets out a loud laugh. “Oh you have GOT to be kidding me?”
He’s still laughing when he turns to me. “His date ditched him at the bar and he left his phone in his Uber and he had to borow someone's phone.” He laughs again. “How do you even have my number memorized dude?”
Jason shouts a few more curse words through the phone, and then Brian finishes the conversation and hangs up. Brian turns and looks over to me.
“I told him I would pick him up and bring him home. That alright? I’ll be home in about an hour.”
I finally give a small laugh and nod my head. “Yeah of course. Go save your friend”
He leans down to kiss me, and I don’t know why but I give him my cheek instead of my mouth. He whispers in my ear “To be continued.”
He walks toward the front door and throws on some shoes and then he’s gone.
Suddenly, it is just me and Dean sitting on the couch in the living room. We have never been alone in the house togethe,r and if there was ever a good time to have that talk he mentioned, now would be it.
I want to get out of here before he tries and I have no interest in finishing the movie, so I just quietly mumble “I’m going to go to my room.” And I stand up to leave.
I am walking through the kitchen towards my bedroom when I hear Dean’s footsteps following me. His voice stops me in my tracks. Deep, angry and concerned. “Are you going to fuck him?”
I whip around with a breath coming sharply out of my nose. I glare back at him.
“That’s none of your business!”
He just glares back at me. His voice remains steady and stern. “Everything that happens in my house is my business.”
I can feel my own anger rising. “Well, maybe I shouldn’t be in this house then.”
He is looking down on me now like that was the dumbest thing to say.
“You are being ridiculous.”
Oh no he did not.
“I am being ridiculous? You’re the one the one who is trying to make it sound wrong for me to sleep with my own boyfriend!”
He is walking toward me now. I lean back against the counter to create space, but he just steps in between me and the kitchen island. His gaze is intense, so I look down at my feet.
“Have you slept with him?” He says sternly.
My eyes shoot back up to him. “What?”
He repeats himself but it comes out even harsher this time. “Have you slept with him since that night?”
My breath catches and my eyes fall back down to my feet. “I-...uh I-...”
Deans leans forward and places both his hands on the counter behind me, boxing me in.
“Caroline. Have. You. Slept. With. Him.” He grits out between his teeth.
I can feel his breath fanning over my forehead. I peak my eyes up slightly so that I am looking into his, but my head is still faced toward the ground. I whisper so quietly that I am not sure he will hear me. “No.”
As soon as the word leaves my lips, Dean fists his hand in my hair and crushes his mouth to mine. He uses his other hand to pull my body against his.
God, I missed his mouth. He steps even closer and tries to push his tongue into my mouth when I come to my senses. I shove at his chest as hard as I can, and he pulls back. His chest and shoulders are rapidly rising and falling as he breathes hard. I look up into his eyes and they are pure lust. The deepest green I have ever seen them. He looks so sexy, and it just pisses me off more.
“What the hell do you think you are doing!” I shout at him while I feel my fists clench at my sides as I try to gain control of both my anger and my desire.
