Crossing Borders (Blackbridge Security 10) - Page 86

I look over at him, giving him a genuine smile.

“I’m not complaining about the way you sucked my cock.”

“Neither am I.”

“Let’s go,” he urges, opening his door.

I exit the vehicle as well, meeting him at the front of the SUV. He doesn’t hesitate to grab my hand or press a kiss to my lips on the front steps.

“Find a seat. I’ll see you in just a little while.”

I follow him inside, following a group of people to the backyard as he bolts up the stairs.

“Perfect weather for a wedding,” the man says beside me as I sit down. “Spencer Madison.”

I shake his hand when he offers it to me.

“Archer Bremen.”

The man smiles at me, making it clear that he recognizes the name, but he doesn’t gush over me. I find that I like his lack of response.

The groomsmen are the first to walk out, and the second Brooks turns around, standing proud beside his best friend, his eyes lock on to me. My cheeks heat, but I couldn’t pull my eyes away if I tried.

An arm nudges me, and I look at a smiling Spencer.

“My wife is Jules’s best friend,” he offers, his eyes shining with love as a lovely woman walks down the aisle in a teal-colored dress.

“Lucky man,” I whisper, trying my hardest not to look back at Brooks. I don’t want to draw more attention to the two of us.

The wedding march begins and we all stand as Jules begins her walk down the aisle. She only has eyes for Kit, and I get a little choked up as he watches her, his eyes shining with tears.

Glancing over, I see Brooks still watching me. I wink at him, making his smile grow wider.

The ceremony begins, the officiant speaking about love and destiny, and I feel all of it inside of me as if he’s speaking to me. A hush falls over the crowd, several people laughing when Kit has to nudge Brooks to get his attention. Brooks pulls his eyes from mine, looking a little confused.

“The rings?” Kit asks good-naturedly.

There’s another round of chuckles from the guests as Brooks gets with the program and pulls the rings from the inside pocket of his jacket.

Vows are spoken and promises are made, and the kiss Kit and Jules share borders on being indecent, but it’s clear it’s been a very long time coming because the roar from the crowd is louder than I’ve heard at some concerts.

He dips her back, and she has full trust in the man because she doesn’t even falter when her long hair brushes the ground. She’s smiling like this is the happiest day of her life when she stands, her hand going to her round belly.

They keep looking at each other as they make their way down the aisle. Brooks and Spencer’s wife start the journey next, but the woman only makes it as far as our row before she’s reaching for Spencer. I step out of her way as she lifts on her toes and presses her mouth to her husband’s.

I hit a solid chest, and an apology is on my lips when I turn to see Brooks smiling at me.

“Hey,” I say to him, a soft smile on my own lips.

I expect him to say it back, but what I get instead is my own kiss. Right there with everyone watching, Brooks Morgan presses his mouth to mine, claiming me in front of everyone.

There are no gasps or cries of confusion.

What I do hear is one woman mutter, “That’s so hot.”

I smile when he pulls back, his thumb brushing my bottom lip as he looks at me in a way that I’d consider indecent in public.

“Ready for pictures?” he asks.

“Yeah,” I say stupidly, it not registering in my head that he means pictures of the bridal party.

“Not so fast,” he says, his hand pulling me back when I try to split from him. “I may never get a picture of you in a suit again.”

I cock an eyebrow, thinking about one other situation I’d gladly wear a suit for this man, but I don’t say it out loud.

Brooks stares at me as if he can read my mind. “Yeah? I’ll keep that in mind.”

“You’re making my dick hard.” I whisper my confession into his ear, loving that we’re standing so close.

He chuckles, stepping to the side as the photographer runs down a laundry list of shots he needs to get.

“And it’s been requested that I get one with all the Blackbridge guys,” he says, shoving his list of notes into his pockets.

I stand back, looking at the shear sexiness of the ten men as they stand against the back fence of the yard.

When Brooks told me Kit and Jules were getting married in Kit’s parents’ backyard, this is not what I expected. They’ve put a lot of work into the place. It’s fucking magical back here.
