She sighs, rubbing her hands together. “I thought it was Agent McKay coming to arrest me.”

I push the door open and let myself in. I grab her arms and kick the door closed. “I gave you my word, baby girl. You have nothing to worry about. Agent asshat won’t be coming anywhere near you again.”

She begins to cry and I pull her to me. She tries to fight me, but when I tighten my arms around her she relaxes and sobs into my chest. I shouldn’t enjoy it as much as I do because she’s hurting, but damn having her in my arms again is like a drug rushing through my veins. I miss her so much and any way I can have her I will. Even if she’s sobbing in my arms.

I rub my hand up and down her back trying to soothe her and risk placing a kiss on top of her head. “Relax baby girl.”

She lifts her head, tears running down her cheeks, scared green eyes, and trembling lips meet my gaze. “I can’t sleep, I can’t work, I can’t even eat. What the fuck Riley? Why is this happening?” I wipe her tears and she realizes she’s given me too much and pulls away. She shakes her head and looks at the ground. “I’m scared all the time,” she whispers.

I close my eyes briefly and let her emotions wash over me. I caused this. I got her involved, but I never would have if I’d known something bad could happen.

“Baby girl, I’d never intentionally put you in danger. If I knew this would happen, I never would have come to you for help. You know that right?”

She lifts her gaze to mine and crosses her arms. “I do know that you didn’t think anything would happen, but it doesn’t mean I don’t blame you.”

“I’ll take all your blame. I deserve your hate. It doesn’t mean I don’t still love you,” I say.

Tears run down her cheeks as she tightens her arms around herself. “Don’t, please,” she whispers.

“I’m not here to cause you any more pain than I already have. I’m here to tell you I talked to the agent and you’re safe. He’s not going to bother you again. I gave you my word, Gillian. He’s my problem now. You can sleep, work, and eat. You’ll never see him again,” I say.

More than ever I know that I will do whatever it is he asks of me. After I leave here I’m going to kill his target and we’ll be having a long talk. I’ve done research on him. He’s from Vegas, has no wife or kids, has a pretty decent arrest record from what I could find. He seems clean, too clean. I don’t know what the fuck his motive is here. I’ve thought of hundreds of possibilities, but nothing makes sense. He went through Gillian to get to me. I need to know why and that’s what I’ll find out in a few hours.

“What does he want from you?” Gillian asks, pulling me from my thoughts.

I grin as I let my eyes roam her body. Even in her sweats she looks hot as hell. It makes me want to pull them off and find that sexy body underneath. I want to bend her over the couch and fuck her until she’s gripping my dick in that vice of a pussy while her orgasm rips through her. I’d push her onto the floor, slam back into her as I wrap my hand around her throat. I’d pound into her as I tighten my hold. Her eyes would be filled with arousal as her mouth was opened slightly, trying to get a deeper breath. When she couldn’t, she’d instinctively grab my wrist and that would cause me to fuck her harder. I’d pinch her clit causing her to find another release and squeeze my dick tighter. Seeing her struggle for a deep breath mixed with complete ecstasy is what would push me over. I’d come hard, shooting my come deep inside her as I release her throat. She’d gasp, taking a deep breath. I’d pull her up so her legs are on either side of me, while my cock is still inside her and kiss her.

“Riley?”

Fuck. I

snap out of my fuck thoughts and look up at her. I’m hard as a fucking rock now and don’t hide the fact I need to adjust myself. “Sorry baby girl, some thoughts just pull me in deep.”

She knows exactly what I mean because for a second I see the understanding in her emerald eyes. Just as quickly the anger and fear are back. “What does he want from you?”

“I can’t tell you that, Gillian,” I say.

She shakes her head and walks over to look out the window. “You get me caught up in this shit, but you won’t tell me how you’re going to fix it. You didn’t learn a fucking thing,” she says.

An anger I shouldn’t feel takes over and I move so my front is pressed against her back. I don’t put my hands on her body, I just want her to feel my presence. “What the fuck is that supposed to mean?

“You lied to me by hiding the fact that your club is responsible for Rachel’s death. Now you’re lying to me by hiding whatever it is that agent wants from you. None of that makes me feel better. None of that makes me feel like I’m not going to get a knock on the door and hauled off in cuffs.” She sighs as she continues looking outside. “I thought you’d be honest for once.”

I fucked this girl up and all I want to do is fix it. I want her back, but I think losing her is a nightmare I’ll never wake up from. But I can’t share this with her.

“Baby girl, I’m not lying to you, I’m protecting you. If I told you anything, you’d be pulled in deeper. You’d be an accessory. I won’t do that. I’ll take your hate if it means I know I’m protecting you. I’ll know you’re safe,” I say.

She turns around and we’re now face to face. Her breathing is labored and begins to pick up the more I search her face. Fuck, this girl has my broken heart in her hands. She fucking owns me. She also has my cock hating me again because her pussy is the only one that we both want.

“Is it dangerous?”

“Gillian,” I warn.

“Am I gonna lose you?”

I risk it and rub my thumb across her cheek as I grin. “You already did, baby girl.”

“But you’re still alive.”
