“It’s going to take some getting used to, Jax.” I sit on the bed and hand her my shirt.

“You’ve seen me

naked, and I’m not shy. I’ll take these boxers off right now.” She laughs and shakes her head.

“You’re such an ass. That is something you are used to. You’re a damn model, I’m just a photographer.” She has to be kidding.

“You obviously don’t see yourself the way I do. Never have I been more attracted to someone, found someone so beautiful. You do things to me that, honestly, I’ve never experienced. Don’t ever be shy around me, because no one else compares to you in my eyes.” Huh, I didn’t even know I had this guy in me.

“Wow. I don’t even know what to say.” I kiss her and stand up.

“Say you’ll have dinner with me tonight.” She puts the shirt on and stands up.

“Yes, I’ll definitely have dinner with you tonight. Now let’s go so I can hug on my nieces for a few hours.” I throw on pants and a T-shirt, and we head to her place.

After dropping Kallie off at her place and leaving her with a kiss that is sure to have her rushing back to me soon, I went home and decided to go for a run. When I was running, I noticed things that I’ve never noticed before, couples holding hands, laughing, hugging, and simply talking. It made me realize just how much I’ve been missing and didn’t even realize. I never thought I’d be the guy chasing someone, the guy saying romantic things, and the guy wanting to be with just one woman, but because of Kallie, that’s exactly who I am.

I get home from my run and take a long shower. When I get out, I sit out back for a while before figuring out dinner plans. I light a cigarette and lean back in my chair. I can’t stop thinking of Kallie. I thought I couldn’t get her off my mind before, but now, even after one night, all I can do is think about her. Her taste, her body. The way she felt in my arms, the way she looked turned on.

The sliding door opening breaks my thoughts, and I turn my head. “Hey, man, what are you doing here?” Brody sits down next to me and smacks my leg.

“Came by to check and see what happened with Kallie last night. She looked about ready to rip your head off when I left.” I laugh and take a drag of my cigarette.

“She was pissed. We had it out on the front lawn before I kissed the hell out of her.” He looks at me with pride in his eyes and a smile on his face.

“Fucking finally. I can’t believe it took you so long.” I flip him off as the door opens again, and Blake comes out.

“What’s up, fellas? Hey, Brody, did he tell you that Kallie spent the night last night and didn’t leave until late morning?” I laugh at the ridiculousness of this conversation.

“She stayed the night? Damn, you lucky bastard.” I put out my smoke and cross my arms.

“Yes, she stayed the night. Yes, she didn’t leave until late this morning. No, we didn’t have sex. Happy?” Brody smiles, but Blake looks shocked.

“What the hell? You didn’t have sex? What did you do?” Fucking moron.

“Are you serious? We slept.” He pulls his chair right in front of me and sits on the edge of it.

“So wait. You guys didn’t do anything at all? There was no touching of the sexual nature going on in that room all night?” Brody punches him in the arm, thankfully, because I’d have done it a hell of a lot harder.

“Damn, Blake, give him a break. He’s getting to know her.” He rolls his eyes and looks back at me.

“Bullshit. I don’t believe nothing happened. And Brody, he knows her. He’s been chasing her for months, in case you forgot.” I will remember this conversation when this asshole gets with someone. I will be sure to pry and annoy the ever-living shit out of him.

“What are we in high school? You want to know if I got to touch a boob?” He throws his hands in the air.

“Yes, Christ. That’s all I’m asking.” Brody and I bust out laughing at how dumb he is.

“Just imagine what you would do.” He grins at me and shakes his head. “Now realize I did the complete opposite.” Brody gives me a pound, and we laugh at Blake’s expense again.

“I’m going to order some pizza. You are so fucking lame.” He goes inside, and I smile at my brother.

“I totally got to touch her boobs.”

I’m on my way to Kallie’s for dinner. I picked up Chinese from the same restaurant as our first dinner together. It’s become one of our favorite places. I felt horrible when she called me crying because she is so upset about Braden and the girls leaving. She said she’s never had to do something so difficult before as saying goodbye to them. I couldn’t get out of the house fast enough to make sure she wasn’t alone. I’ve been trying to think of a way for her to see them all again, before they leave, when it hits me. She can take them to the airport. It may be hard actually watching them leave, but at least she’d be able to spend even just a little bit more time with them. I smile, proud of myself.

When I get to her place, I knock once and walk in, like I always do. “Kallie?”

“Coming.” I put the food down and think, not yet you’re not. I go into the living room, and she comes walking down the hallway. She steals my breath away. She looks hot as hell in a strapless pink dress. I smile and meet her halfway, pulling her to me and pressing my lips to hers. She opens right up, and our tongues get reacquainted. After several minutes, she pulls away and smiles up at me. “Is it crazy to say I missed you? That’s crazy, right, I just saw you.” I grin and wink at her.
