Radley stiffened. “Clever fae. I’d call that cheating, trying to work me up before we’ve even began.”

She blew him a kiss and he stiffened further. “I guess you better run fast then, Alpha Whiteclaw.”

“Oh, I’ll run fast, but either way, I win,” he tossed back, dragging his t-shirt over his head. “Whichever one of us ends up on our knees, I’m ready.”

His voice was so thick with arousal, it didn’t surprise her when he dropped his jeans and she saw every inch of desire he felt protruding proudly. With a smile, Cricket watched as he rolled his shoulders and fur began to sprout along his skin. Bones snapped, making her jump, until a large shaggy wolf stood before her. He was massive, much larger than a normal wolf, but she wasn’t afraid when she reached out her hand toward him and he pushed his large head against her fingers.

“Beautiful,” Cricket whispered. “You’re beautiful.”

“Not nearly as beautiful as you,” Radley’s voice echoed in her head and her eyes widened. “Ready?”

She nodded. “Race to the river?”

“To the river,” he agreed, turning in the direction of the gate. “Say when.”

Cricket flared her wings wide. “When.” She launched herself into the air.
