“Sara…”

“Hmm?” She gave it a little squeeze. I winced.

“You’re playing with fire.”

“I’ve always loved to do that.”

With a smirk, she reached for my belt buckle, then the button, then the cruel, cruel zipper. My cock sprung free, large, hard as steel, and ready for her hand. She wrapped her delicate fingers around it, tested a pump of her hand. Controlling myself had never in my life been harder than at this moment. Trying not to come, trying not to whimper like a wounded animal, trying not to bend her over and fuck her raw in this damn garage.

She kissed me then, and started stroking it in earnest. A slow but steady rhythm that shot a bolt of lightning down my spine. I pumped my hips to match it, needed more, but not wanting a single thing to change. And that’s when I heard it. Vaguely, like my ears weren’t fully working. Or maybe it was just my brain not registering. A door opening. A man’s voice. Sara? Did he just say her name?

“Oh fuck,” she whispered and my brain caught up with a sudden burst of recognition. Someone was here and we were about to get caught. She pulled back and I made sure my broad body blocked her as she adjusted her dress and hair. I shoved my dick back into my pants—while saying a prayer for the poor thing—and buckled my belt in record time.

Sara’s face was pale as recognition hit us both. It was that guy she was talking to. The giraffe.

“Sara? You okay?”

The rows of shelves hid us from view, but only if he didn’t go snooping around. Not that I cared about me, or this fucker, but I was not about to let Sara get into an awkward situation. I brought my finger to my lips in the “shh” symbol, and stepped away from her. The loss of her heat felt like the greatest regret of my life, and holy shit, that was dramatic, but I couldn’t lie. Shaking my arms out and cracking my neck, I walked to the corner and turned it, calling out.

“Oh hey man, you looking for Sara?” I walked past the last row of shelving and the giraffe came into view, still standing in the doorway of the garage.

He sized me up. The haze in my eyes and whatever my hair was doing probably looked like I was just in the middle of fucking, but I knew my dick was put away at least, so I could still claim deniability.

“Yeah, you seen her?”

“Nah, not in here. It’s just me. On a phone call.” I didn’t have my phone out and I wasn’t bothered by it. This guy could think what he wanted of me.

“Right. Okay, well if you see her—”

“I’ll be sure to tell her you were looking.” I smiled at him, probably a little too sarcastically, but what-the-fuck-ever. He nodded and turned around, closing the door behind him.

I raked a hand through my hair and blew out a breath. Waiting a minute for the guy to get lost, I thought about all we just did. And what it meant. I had no idea, but I wasn’t so scared anymore. Not after having Sara fall apart in my arms like that. Not after seeing heaven when I made her come.

I strolled back and then around the corner, but the spot I had just left Sara was empty. I shot around the other side of the shelves, and dammit—the door that led to the side of Sam and Alex’s driveway stood ajar.

Sara was gone.
