PEYTON

“Stop!”I shout between giggles.

“Stop what?” Micah digs his fingertips into the side of my rib cage for the umpteenth time.

“Tickling me.” I pry at his fingers in the hopes of getting free. But he has a death grip on my waist. “We need…” Tickle. “To get ready…” Tickle. “For work.” Laugh. “Oh, god.” I clamp my thighs together and clench my internal muscles. “Seriously, Micah. Stop. I’m going to pee.”

He digs in harder and laughs. “Liar.”

“No, seriously.” If I don’t make it to the bathroom now, this won’t be pretty. I tug him in that direction and hope he picks up on how severe the situation is. “My bladder is about to let go.”

He drops his hands. Thank fuck. I bolt to the toilet, drop my pants and call it a win that I made it in time.

Micah walks in and winces as I finish up. “Sorry. Didn’t mean for that to happen.”

“Yeah, yeah. But remember this…” I point a finger at him. “If I say I have to pee, I’m not joking.” I stare at his pouty lip while I wash up. For a split second, I consider apologizing. But I let it go.

“Sorry, hellcat.” He pulls me in for a hug. I hesitate on returning the hug, wondering if he will tickle me again. When he doesn’t, I wrap my arms around his middle and lean into him.

Cool air hits my skin as he brushes hair off my shoulder. Before a shiver passes, warm lips kiss the width of my shoulder, along the curve of my neck and up to that spot beneath my ear. Hands roam the landscape of my body—gentle and rough, caressing and kneading.

One hand slides up my spine, dives into my hair, fists the locks and tugs back. The brightest constellation stares down at me and I lick my lips. Clench my thighs for a different reason.

Micah reads me like an open book. Sees the need in my eyes. Feels my taut nipples on his chest and subtle grind of my hips.

He lowers his lips, stopping a breath above mine. “We don’t have time,” he says with a smirk on his lips.

“Please,” I moan. At this rate, I am willing to be late or speed to work, if necessary. Not like we aren’t always early.

Micah tightens his grip on my hair and licks the seam of my lips. “Gonna be quick and dirty. You good with that?”

“You know I am.”

Then, he releases my hair, spins me around to face the bed, yanks my pants and underwear down, and forces me to bend at the waist. With a clunk, his pants and briefs hit the floor. He draws circles on my skin just above my ass crack.

As I open my mouth to tell him to quit teasing me, his finger glides between my cheeks. He pauses at the tight hole and presses slightly. “One day, I’ll claim this too.” The rumble in his tone and the promise in his words make me push into his touch. “Not now, hellcat,” he growls out. “But soon.”

His finger slips lower, separates my lips and toys with my clit. I fist the comforter and grind against his touch.

“So wet and eager.” Whack. His free hand slaps my ass. “I love when you’re starved for me.”

His finger vanishes, but is quickly replaced with the tip of his cock. He rubs the head between my lips—up and down, over and over. Teasing and taunting.

Then he slams forward and fills me. “Jesus fuck,” I belt out as I claw the bedding.

“Hold on, hellcat. Quick and dirty time.”

Micah slides a hand up my spine, circles around the front of my throat, and tightens his grip. With the other hand on my hip, he holds me in place as his cock pistons between my thighs. Balls slapping my clit. My moans and his bouncing off the walls while pheromones and arousal fog the air.

When the pitch of my cries escalates, he shifts the hand on my hip to my nipple and tweaks the tight bud. His hand around my throat constricts and I go into sensation overload. Heat spirals up my spine, spreads across my chest and up my neck as my walls tighten around his cock. He twists my nipple harder. Slams into me with more aggression. Tips me over the edge and jumps after me.

“God, I love when you come,” he growls in my ear and releases my neck. “Fucking spectacular.”

“Thanks,” I say on a laugh. “I’ll take it as a compliment.”

We walk in the back of Roar—still early—with loony smiles on our faces. Good thing the staff doesn’t arrive when we do. It would be ridiculously difficult to hide our euphoria.

Micah and I decide to split tasks to make the evening easier. He will set up for Karaoke Night while I work on scheduling and payroll. Recently, we started dealing with invoices and ordering on Tuesdays and Fridays. Days when we don’t work together, but still have another manager on duty. It frees up our joint work nights more and gets us off the floor most of the night when everyone else has it handled.

It isn’t long before the staff arrives and Roar opens. The bar lines with patrons ordering drinks. A line forms near the makeshift stage as people add their name to the karaoke roster. Tables fill with people and conversations. And it isn’t long before the first singer steps on stage and blesses us with their song selection and voice.

Pouring a beer from the tap, I look up and spot the group walking in. I finish pouring and serve the customer before pressing the button on my headset.

“Starlight.”
