Homeless Heart - Page 56

Chapter 33

Lizzie

Early Sunday morning, I came out of the bathroom and Phin was lying face down on the bed. The sheet had slipped down past his luscious backside. I stood at the foot of the bed admiring his beautiful body; his backside made my mouth water. He'd never let me look at his scars before; he'd always lie on his back or keep my hands from spending too much time on it. He was always up and dressed before me. I realized now even in the shower he'd insured I'd never seen his back. His abs and that dimple were so distracting I can't believe I never noticed.

I hadn't given it much thought at the time. We had no more secrets; he'd let me see it all. As I stood there admiring all the marks that marred his once perfect skin making up these abstract patterns, I couldn't love him more. People might have thought them ugly, but I thought they formed an elegant road map of Phin's life. The severity of some of the scars were deep and still angry looking, others were small indentations.

I crawled up the bed and stopped at his backside and kissed each of his cheeks.

Phin startled and moaned; his deep voice muffled into the pillow. "What are you doing, Lizzie?"

I continued to nibble on his backside. "Just snacking on your pant melons." A chuckle rumbled through his body. I then did something very brazen by running my tongue up the crack of his magnificent ass. He groaned and ground his hips into the bed.

"Don't turn over," I commanded him. "I am not done with you yet."

His deep voice made the bed move as he chuckled into the pillow. I tongued his crack again.

"Lizzie, you've got to stop if you don't want me to burrow a hole in your mattress. Lying on my stomach with a boner is painful for a young guy."

"Shh, all in good time." I then kissed the small dimples just above his backside.

He flinched several times as I kissed and licked the scars on his back, cherishing every part of him. I stopped at one point when his body got particularly stiff. "Does this hurt, Phin? Do you want me to stop?"

He took a deep breath. "No, Lizzie, keep going. Just not used to being touched there."

I worked my way up to his neck, kissing and licking all the different scars. Loving and savoring them over and over, then I collapsed on top of him. He was lying face down, and I was blanketing his body with mine. I ran my chin up and down the back of his neck in his hair. I was kissing the base of his skull where he was super sensitive. He gathered my wrists over his head so I couldn't touch him while his hips were grinding into the mattress.

"Lizzie, I need to turn over and be inside you."

"Soon, I promise, I just like being here covering you like a blanket." I was getting turned on too, so I started rubbing myself up and down his backside.

I whispered in his ear, "Phineas, I love you. Scars and all, you are beautiful inside and out. Promise never to hide from me again." I kissed his neck. "I love that you worry about me. You are so tender and thoughtful. I've never had someone who took care of me, and I think I like it. You need to turn over now so I can show you."

He turned over in one swift movement, and I was now resting on his chest. "Wow, now that's a smooth move."

We sat up, his mouth kissing me short and sweetly. "Sweetheart, you have no idea. I haven't shown you all my moves yet. I liked having you as my human blanket, and if you do that kissing thing on my neck again, I won't be held accountable for my actions." He planted a hungry kiss on my mouth, showing me how much he loved me. All the despair I'd felt in the past two weeks had left my body. He would have to make it up to me, and this will be a good start.

We stayed in bed having sex, talking, laughing, and we even argued. We fought because I was still angry with him. He let me vent at him, and he apologized with his mouth in ways that didn't involve words. Phin told me about his friendship with a homeless man called the mayor who had recently died. He told me more about Duke and living in LA. He avoided revealing any more about the girls he'd slept with, knowing it made me uncomfortable and jealous. The man I'd fallen in love with looked so much happier and sexier than when I first met him. The truth had transformed his beauty, the dimple was perpetually out, and his eyes were an intense green. I couldn't believe that was even possible, but he was practically beaming now. We needed to discuss my miscarriage and my past with Greg, but right now I just wanted to enjoy our time. Neither of us wanted to go out in the real world and burst the bubble we'd made for ourselves.

As we lay in bed, I asked him if he could do anything, if money or people weren't an issue, what would it be. He thought about it, rubbing his fingers over his chin and closing his eyes. I watched his face intently as he contemplated the answer.

"When I get my inheritance, I think I would like to help runaways like me, maybe be a counselor or something. Do you think you could help me get a job at one of the shelters or the charities? Maybe I could go back to school? The money could help with our future, and that's why I didn't want to ruin our chance to have that money." His eyes lit up as he blurted out his plans.

"Phin, you could go back to school. I can help you; we'll figure it out. Have you thought about changing your name? I have a lawyer friend who might be able to give us some good advice."

"I could do that, but I only have nine months left. I'd rather work under the table. I've also got about five thousand saved up in a bus locker."

"Phin, you can live off that no problem for nine months."

"Not sure about that in the Bay Area."

"Well, you could if you live rent-free."

"Who would be my landlord?"

"Well, your landlord would work out some terms and services." I giggled, unable to hide my joy in our banter.

He leaned down and gave me a hot, open-mouthed kiss, and then he pulled away as I tried to catch my breath.

"Services? I can't wait to read that contract. Lizzie, we should get out of bed and get some food so I can work on the details of my terms of servicing."

"Fine, but you have to put some clothes on, I don't want pubic hair in my food."

"Sure, you drive a hard bargain."

He swatted my ass as I moved to get out of bed. While I watched Phin prepare our meal, I knew at the bottom of my heart that today was our new beginning.
