Blake hesitated for only a moment before giving in. “Maybe I can convince Travis or Gavin to take you on a tour tomorrow. I can’t make any promises, but since Liam and I will be going over this past show, you technically have the day to yourself.”
I let out a little squeal and lightly clapped my hands. I had been wanting to explore the land, but since I got here, Blake immediately put me to work cleaning out Storm’s stall and giving him a good bath. Then on to her beloved bonding exercises. She said that I needed to get reacquainted with him since I’d been gone for so long.
I smiled so hard my cheeks hurt when he remembered me and was glued to my side after one session. It made me feel guilty that I had been away from him so long, but I was determined to not let that happen again. Blake made me repeat the exercise at the beginning of every training for the past two days. Next, we tackled bareback riding. She told me I wasn’t allowed a saddle until I could ride him without it and go over super small jumps. I had thought it would be easy but Storm wasn’t as smooth of a ride as I was used to. After I slid off him a few too many times, I finally got into the groove of it.
The only thing that saved me from embarrassment from all this was that all the riders were away at a show, so they didn’t get to see me on my ass. Now that they were all arriving back, I was thankful that Blake was going to allow me back in the saddle for our next lesson.
“Don’t worry, Blake. I’ll handle getting Grace her tour tomorrow,” Liam said grinning from ear to ear. I didn’t know whether to be afraid or pleased that he was helping me out.
“Alright. Grace, get back up on Storm. We have a few more things to do today.”
“Sure. We’ll have to catch up later, Liam.” I smiled at him. Now that the team was back, maybe Blake would give me some breathing room.
“Does anyone need help unloading?” Blake asked Liam and lifted her chin at the trailer.
“No, we’ve got it. You two get back to whatever training you were doing.” Liam hugged me again before heading toward the trailer to start unloading the horses and tack.
I glanced at Liam one last time before I ran back over to Storm and hopped back on. We tackled a few more exercises before Blake called it quits. Travis was due back in an hour, and she wanted to wash up and get ready for dinner. I couldn’t wait to meet Travis. Gavin was cool, and I saw how he doted on my sister. I wanted to see how their relationship worked.
After putting Storm away for the evening, I quickly showered and changed and ran down to the dining hall for dinner. I hadn’t made any friends here yet, except for Jessie, the ranch chef. She was super friendly, and we chatted while I had dinner.
Tonight, she had promised to tell me about how she met Stefan and Mikel. I thought about how my sister and Jessie both ended up in a relationship with two guys. To be honest, I was envious of what they had.
