Tiffany put a hand to her mouth. “You did!”
How had that gotten out? Surely her mother wouldn’t tell anyone. But maybe Danny told his daughter. After all, he seemed to find the whole situation amusing.
Tiffany shoved her lightly. “You little drama queen! I’m sure he deserved it.”
“Why? Have you spent a lot of time with him?” Mila didn’t want to play into her hands any more than she had.
Tiffany’s expression soured a little. “Not that much. But I’ve heard he’s quite the womanizer. I’d watch out if I were you. He doesn’t like to lose.”
Mila took that to mean Maddox had never made a play for Tiffany. Not that Mila blamed him. “I’ll keep that in mind.”
Tiffany cozied up to her. “We’re practically sisters now. And I wouldn’t want you getting caught in the jaws of someone like Maddox Cross.”
Mila forced a smile though she wanted to gag. Sisters? It was tough not to laugh.
The wedding couldn’t come soon enough. Then maybe Mila could gain some distance to avoid these problems. And her new…relatives.
At least she would hold onto that hope until the last.
