“I cook when I want to,” I tell her. “Or when I really want to impress someone.”

“Aka seduce a girl?” she suggests, her tone sharp. “So you must be cooking often.”

“Not really.” I shrug. “I’m usually impressive enough.”

That one gets her. Daisy rolls her eyes so hard I have to laugh. She’s fun to tease. I could really get used to this.

“Okay, Casanova. What’s your favorite band? And don’t say The Rolling Stones, because that’s mine.”

“The Stones are good.” I nod. “But they’re my number two. My number one would be Dylan.”

“See, if you just switched those, we’d be simpatico,” Daisy replies.

“Stones over Dylan?” I laugh. “No way!”

“Yes way! Wild Horses? Brown Sugar?”

“Like a Rolling Stone?” I counter. “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door?”

“Hey, I’m not saying he isn’t good,” Daisy says quickly, an excitement in her eyes. She’s enjoying this. “But the Stones are just better.”

“Uh huh,” I chuckle. “And I suppose you are a typical girl and like chocolate cake over white cake?”

Daisy’s eyes flare, and she quickly reaches out and bats me on the arm. “Typical? How dare you!”

Christ. The way she’s looking at me has me feeling like a kid again. We’re flirting – actually flirting. This isn’t just a pretext for something that’s going to happen later. I was furious when my dad sprang all this on me this morning. Now I’m thrilled. Without even knowing it, he led me to the woman of my dreams.

“White or chocolate cake?” I ask.

“Neither!” she replies, barely hiding the smile on her face. “Red velvet—”

I just can’t take it any longer. My lips cut her off as I press them against hers. Ru

th evidently put some lip gloss on them. They taste sweet, and my cock throbs between my thighs. The load I worked out while she was getting ready has done nothing to quell my need for her.

For a second, Daisy kisses me back. I even hear a tiny, almost imperceptible moan from her throat, but she quickly pulls away. “Hey, what are you doing? I said no sex!”

“Sweetie, if this is sex to you, then I feel bad for you.”

“What, are you going to shame me for being a virgin now?”

My heart almost stops. “What’d you just say?”

Daisy shakes her head and turns away. “Forget it. I don’t want to talk about it—”

I take her by the jaw and pull her back to me, searching her eyes for any signs that she may be messing with me. “You’re a virgin?”

“I know, I know,” she groans. “So uncool. But I have my reasons, okay?”

“What reasons?”

I’m absolutely dying to know them. This deal just keeps on getting better and better. Imagine finding a woman who sets my soul on fire and knowing that no other man has ever had her.

“I dunno.” Daisy shrugs indignantly. “Actually wanting to like the guy I give myself to? Actually having guys show any interest in me at all and not cheat on me with my friends?”

“Shut up,” I tell her. “Guys aren’t interested in you? In what universe?”

“You think I’m lying?” she retorts. “Oh, that’s right. I forgot about Jerad, my online stalker who made me delete my Instagram profile because he wouldn’t stop sending me creepy DMs. You’re right. I get tons of attention from guys.”
