“Did you see where Paige went?”
“Yeah, she and Johnny left a few minutes ago. She said something about a migraine.”
“Shit.” Gina frowned. “Stress always does that to her. I wish she’d told me what was bothering her. I would have asked someone to drive her home.”
“Johnny’s doing it…since they rode here together.”
“I don’t care if they walked in the same boots, I would have asked someone to get her home safely.”
Warning bells and buzzers sounded in Austin’s brain.
“What do you mean?”
“I don’t like that Johnny character. He’s too…possessive.”
So it’s not just me who’s noticed. Interesting.
As Trudy, Gretchen, and Annette strolled into the bar, Gina leaned in and whispered, “Do me a favor?”
“Anything.”
“Try to keep an eye on Paige, if it’s not too much of a hardship.” Gina nodded her head toward his crotch, then grinned and winked.
