Houston’s eyes bulged. “You know? Are you telling me that he told you about—”
“Ginny? Yes.”
Houston gaped, then scrubbed a hand over his face, the same way Austin did.
“Fuck. He’s way more in love with you than I thought. Question is…are you in love with him as deeply?”
Paige sent him a sad smile and subtle nod. “It’s not like there’s anything we can do about it. Is there?”
“Probably not, and that makes it ten times worse. I don’t have a crystal ball to know what the future’s gonna bring.” Houston moved in closer and pinned her with a fierce glare. “All I know is that if you hurt him…if you break his heart again, I’ll ring your pretty little neck. Got it?”
Trying her best not to tremble, Paige nodded before Houston turned and walked away.
