Taking the Mafia Princess

“Breathe, son. I can read the damn ideas running through yer head.”
“I’m going to kill him,” I informed them.
“Good,” Liam said. “He’s not to be trusted.”
“Does her father know?”
“Yes, They will continue their trip. Dublin is huge, so he can’t just run into them. We have to be careful because we don’t want to let on that we’re aware that he’s here.”
“He looks crazed,” I added, knowing that Silvia wouldn’t have fallen for that fuck if he looked like he did there.
“Well, a quick background check on him showed that he’d just gone bankrupt,” Liam added. “I just got off the phone with my connection in Chicago. I believe Mr. Franchetti was the one who did it,” he suggested. I didn’t know the details about it, but I was certain it was true.
“So now what do we do?”
“That’s something I think you need to talk to Mr. Franchetti about because he’s going to want a piece of this fucker.”
“I don’t want to wait because she could be in danger. In fact, I have to find her.” I started toward the exit when Liam cuffed my arm, holding me back. He let go once I relented.
“Don’t do that. We don’t want to tip him off. If he slips away, the danger could be greater. Having an eye on him is better. Trust me,” Liam stated.
I was on pins and needles waiting for her to return. It killed me to sit back, but the men who had been sneaky and dangerous knew that my sudden appearance might spook the fuck and he’d run back to America before I had the chance to rip his heart out. The notion that he could be anywhere near my woman pissed me off. Now it finally hit home how she felt about Regan and me. Since I knew it was nothing I didn’t think twice, but it made her jealous. I was way past jealous right now. I wanted his head, and I’d have it. We had no idea if he planned to kill her or her family or did he want her back. I wasn’t letting either of those things happen.
The time ticked by slowly, but finally, they came home, and Mr. Franchetti pointed to the car where Silvia was sleeping. “You and I need to talk.”
“Understood. I’ve been waiting for ye to return just for that.” We shook hands, and I walked over to the car, leaning in and kissing her cheek. “Declan,” she sighed in her sleep.
“Wake up, princess. It’s time to go inside,” I whispered in her ear.
“Declan, can’t we sleep a little longer?”
“We can, but not in the car.” She startled awake and looked around. I laughed and helped her out. Several of the guards stood outside to protect her. “Did ye tell yer father about us?”
“No, I couldn’t, but I promise I will in the morning.” She gave me a frown before stepping out of the car.
“It’s fine, Silvia. It’s late. We’ll talk in the morning. I have some things to handle on the ranch. A lot of bloody paperwork.”
“I could help. I’m good with those kinds of things. I could be your sexy assistant.”
“I’d love that, but ye need yer sleep tonight because I have plans for ye,” I teased, winking at her suggestively. I left her at the foot of the steps and whispered, “Goodnight, princess.” Then I walked away into my office.
Mr. Franchetti was waiting for me along with my da and Liam. “What the hell is going on with you and my daughter?”
He crossed his arms and stood tall, but I wasn’t going to be intimidated by him. “She’s going to be my wife one day very soon. But first I want to deal with that fucking ex-boyfriend of hers.”
“What about him? I ruined the fuck for cheating on my little girl. I would have put a bullet in his head, but she asked me not to do it. Remember that though Declan before you break her heart.”
“That won’t happen, but ye shouldn’t have listened to her. He was lurking around the property and shit.”
“What?” he roared.
My da poured him a glass of whiskey and handed it to Mr. Franchetti who drank it down like he was one of us. “I want his head on a plate.”
“Does he think she’ll take him back?” I asked. A hint of panic hit my chest.
“No, she promised me that she’d never take him back. Since she wasn’t in love with the bastard that he was just someone she wanted to forget.”
“Okay, then what are we going to do?”
“I think we should clone her phone. I have a feeling he’s going to contact her and try to get her alone.”
“A possible threat to her family would get her to follow his rules,” Liam added.
“I don’t want her privacy invaded, but I have a feeling he will contact her,” Mr. Franchetti. He turned to me and added, “She may be your future wife, but right now she’s my daughter, so don’t try to fight this.”
