“Declan, I need to talk to you alone, please.”

“Liam,” Declan said with a nod. Liam nodded in return and walked past me.

As soon as he left the barn, Declan came up to me with his arms thrown around my waist. I pushed him off, roughly. “Don’t touch me. Please don’t.”

“What’s happening?”

“I can’t do this. I’m sorry, but my heart belongs to someone else. I can’t do this anymore.”

“What?”

“I thought I could get over him with you and you wanted me so much, but I can’t. I love him and need to be with him. I’m sorry. I know that I made you believe this was more than it is, but I need to go back to him. He’s who I want.”

“Are ye done?”

“What?” It was my turn to be confused.

“Are ye done shitting on my world. If ye’re done, please get out of here and don’t come back. What is with ye women? Do ye need me to go fuck the next woman I see? Do ye need me to punish ye for talking back? Because…never mind. I don’t care. Just let me know if ye’re carrying my baby. I don’t want a fucking dago raising my kid.”

He walked past me without another word and called Liam back in.

“Bye,” he stated, dismissing me outright. I left holding my head up and pretending that my heart wasn’t breaking.

Chapter 14

Declan

I almost laughed when I entered the room with this fuck tied to a chair. “The bloody shite pissed himself,” I chuckled, turning to Liam and shaking my head. “Can ye believe this?”

“So we finally meet, Mr. Avanti,” I said with a grin I couldn’t erase. Maybe I had this in me like my da. I wasn’t much different than Dante it seemed after all. “Ye come to my country and think that ye can scare my woman away.”

“She left you, didn’t she?” he scoffed. The bastard had a set of brass ones, I had to give it to the feckface.

“I let her leave, unlike yerself. Ye threatened her like we didn’t know ye was lurking about my property.”

I walked over to the table where I set up a little welcoming present for my guest. A twelve-inch bowie knife with a Celtic knot inlay handle shined in its sheath. This was a pretty set my da kept for these moments. Running my fingers over the craftsmanship, I admired its beauty before I added, “This was a gift from ma to my da on their first wedding anniversary. Do ye know, I think I need one when Silvia and I celebrate ours.”

“Why don’t you kill me you fucking pussy? All this talking is like a shitty movie.”

“Ah, but ye don’t have anyone looking to assist ye.”

“My people will kill her anyway if I don’t respond to their call.”

“It doesn’t matter because ye won’t be around to enjoy it.” I’d been made well aware of the plan to take her family hostage once they landed, but my da still had his connections. Everything would be just right. Well, Silvia needed to be taught a lesson, but I won’t be needing help on that one.

Chapter 15

Declan

“Oh my God. Please let me go,” she begged, tugging on the ties holding her wrist to the headboard. Fuck, there was something sexy about her tied up with just her panties and my shirt. The little beauty stole my heart and my favorite shirt. She squirmed, tugging on her restraints. A low rumble ripped through my chest. Standing in the shadow of a dark corner of the room, I could see she was unsure of why she was tied to a bed or even where she was, but I wanted to prove a point. “I did what you said, Angelo. I left Ireland and didn’t tell my parents.” That pissed me off that she brought his name into our bed.

“Don’t fucking say his name in our bed again, princess,” I snarled, stepping out of the shadow up to the foot of the bed. I grabbed her ankle and held it harshly just to feel her again.

“Declan? Why?” she asked.

I sat down, running my fingers up her leg, slowly, deliberately, making her shiver with desire. “Why are ye tied to the bed? Because ye needed a lesson. Ye should have trusted me to tell me about that fuck. Instead, ye lied, cruelly broke my heart, and ran away into danger.”

Tears filled her eyes. “I swear I didn’t want to leave you. He promised to kill you and my parents if I didn’t do as he said.”

I leaned forward, brushing my thumb over her cheek and wiping her tears away. “I know. That’s why ye needed to trust me.”

“How am I to trust you when you have me tied up like a prisoner?” she argued, pulling on the ties making her perfect tits bounce.
