Lincoln “Linc”

I’d been looking forward to seeing Garnet in my gym, and when she walked in, I immediately remembered why. Her stretchy workout clothes left little to the imagination, hugging her curvy hips and nice, full breasts. And while I hated to start out like a dirty dog, the outline of her pussy lips was quite evident. I had to force myself not to stare.

“Linc! How ya doing?” she asked me. I wiped my sweaty palms on the sides of my gym pants and took a deep breath. I’d never had much luck with the ladies, and I didn’t want to blow this one. I rarely asked girls out, and when I did, I often ended up tongue-tied. No one wanted to date a guy who couldn’t carry on a conversation. My brother gave me hell about it, but he didn’t know shit. It really was hell.

“I’m glad you came. I’ve been wanting to show you around,” I said. God, I hoped she wouldn’t see how nervous I was.

“Well, thank you for inviting me.” She clearly had no shyness problem. I suppose you had to be outgoing if you were a bartender, talking to people all day. Actually, I spoke to people all day, too, but I answered more questions than regular conversations—where’s the weight room? How do I sign up for yoga?—that sort of thing.

“Come check out the office.” I led her up the stairs. Since we’d opened the place in an old warehouse, we’d had pretty much free reign in how we wanted to build it out. There was a reception desk by the front door, but the office I shared with Jack was on a mezzanine where we could overlook most of what was going on in the gym. It was a great way to keep an eye on things. Of course, my brother used it as a way to scope chicks.

“Wow, this perspective is awesome.” Garnet moved from overlooking the basketball courts, to the swimming pool, to the weight rooms.

“There are group exercise rooms too, but we can’t see them from here.”

“How much is membership? I might like to join,” she asked.

Was she kidding? I wasn’t going to take her money.

“I’m not charging you.”

She smiled. “What? You have to charge me, you’re a growing business. I want to pay.”

“Tell you what. Give me a free beer every now and then and we’ll be square.”

She raised her hands in surrender. “Okay, okay. It’s a deal.”

I don’t know what it was, but I felt so damn comfortable with her. I mean, I didn’t really know her, but I felt like I did.

“Let’s go sweat a little bit, yeah?” I asked, opening the door to head back downstairs.

“Ugh. Please don’t kick my butt,” she begged.

“We’ll see about that. How about we start with the treadmill?” There were two free ones in a corner where we could jog side by side.

I got her started at not much more than a brisk walk and showed her how to increase the speed when she felt ready. Myself, I started at a slow jog. I’d already done my cardio for the day, but a little extra wouldn’t hurt.

“So when did you say you guys opened the place?” she asked, slighted winded from the fast walking.

I had to think for a moment. “Geez. Almost a year now. I can’t believe it’s been that long.” As she picked up speed on the treadmill, I could smell her lush hair. It was a simple scent, not much more than clean shampoo. And it was amazing.

Her face was beginning to glisten, and I caught a look at her bouncing breasts. I felt a twitch in my pants, something that had not happened in a long time.

“Are you and your brother close?”

I nodded. “We are. I mean, we’re really different from each other. He’s gregarious, and I’m more on the quiet side. But we’ve been through a lot.”

I wondered if I should share more. Oh, what the hell.

“We grew up in foster care so most times we only had each other. We had to stick together.”

“Oh, wow. Did you grow up around here?” she asked.

“Yup. Right here in San Francisco.”

“What was it like? Growing up in a foster home?”

“You know, I think we got pretty lucky. I mean, some of the places were great, some not so great. But we didn’t end up in any bad places like some kids do. Still, you have to move around a lot, switch schools, and so forth. You get really good at fighting. We were a team then. Guess we are now, too.”
