“I’m good. I think the champagne went to my head or something. And standing there, watching those people play…” She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
Ash returned with the water and took a seat on the other site of our girl.
“Ahhh,” she said, finishing it. “That was exactly what I needed. Much better.”
“That’s good, Avril, because I am really wanting to kiss you,” Ash said.
He looked at me, and I just smiled and nodded yes.
She leaned toward him, and he took her face in his hands. Initially, he just brushed her lips with his, but then he applied more pressure. She moaned lightly, caught in Ash’s hunger.
He pulled back from her.
“Now you kiss Gio, baby,” he said.
She smiled and turned to me. The moment I’d been waiting for all night.
Our lips met, and just like during the first time we’d kissed, some sort of lightening struck through me, where I knew I was in the right place, with the right woman.
It was the damnedest thing. I’d heard of that happening before, but not to me.
As I kissed her, Ash pulled the zipper down the back of her dress and pushed the garment forward so it fell to her waist.
Her delicious breasts were bare, and my hands went right to them. Ash, in the meantime, kissed the back of her neck until she whimpered in my mouth.
“I’m going to slide my fingers under your dress, Angel,” Ash murmured, pushing the white silk aside to get to our girl’s sweet pussy.
Suddenly Blu appeared right before us. “I’ve been looking for you guys all over!”
Avril’s eyes popped open.
“Av, get your dress back on. You guys,” he said, looking at Ash and me, “c’mon.”
He pulled Avril’s dress back up and zipped it closed before she could even register what was going on. Ash and I stood there wondering how we’d been cock-blocked by a gay man with red hair and a gap in his teeth. And a bow tie.
I put my hand on Blu’s arm. “What’s going on? Are you okay?”
He waved frantically for us to get up and follow him. “Yeah, I’m okay. I mean, I’m not okay. C’mon,” he urged, starting to walk away.
Avril finally got her voice back. “Blu, what the hell is going on?” she asked.
His voice cracked. “There’s been an accident.”
Chapter 23
AVRIL
Blu yanked me by the hand and half-ran, half-walked me past the two women and one man I’d been watching, across the gallery, up the stairs to my office.
“Blu, what the hell is going on?” I asked repeatedly.
But he wouldn’t answer.
I looked over my shoulder to find Gio and Ash right behind us with their long strides.
It wasn’t out of character for Blu to get upset—even hysterical—but it was unlike him to hold off on telling me exactly what was going on.
Why was he waiting? What the hell was happening?
