“Yup. You guys are being treated to my post-workout stench. And I sincerely hope you are enjoying it,” I said. “I’ll bring more next time.

Rand turned his nose up and leaned as far back in the booth as he could to get away from me. What a bunch of pussies.

“Speaking of working out, how’s the community center?” he asked me.

“It’s great. The kids are great. The coaching is great. It’s good stuff. Very healing,” I said, rubbing the raised scar on my chest.

“Yeah? Do they know you’re a sissy boy model in your real job?” Marlon laughed.

“Hey, you should talk. Does your dad know what you do?” I asked.

He smirked and nodded. “He does know. Good old Dad, with a son who’s a male model. That just about put him in an early grave.”

I laughed. “I bet it did. Bigshot NFL team owner’s son wears makeup and prances around in weird clothes.”

Marlon nodded. “Yup. That about sums it up.”

“So Mar, what’s next with the lovely Kealy?” I asked. I hated to be pushy, but I couldn’t get the woman off my mind.

“Well, I’ll be at Forest’s studio for a fitting in the next few days, if I remember correctly. So, we’ll see,” he said.

“Okay, well work it. We’re counting on you,” I said.

He leaned back and smiled. “Have I ever let you down before?”

He was right. The last time we shared a woman had been pretty freaking awesome. I couldn’t wait to do it again. God, it got me going.

Speaking of going, the three of us still at the bar had stayed well past our bedtimes. We paid the bill and waited on the sidewalk in front of the bar for an Uber ride. Well, Rand and Marlon did. I was close enough to walk.

“You sure you don’t want to ride with us?” Marlon asked.

Bouncing my basketball on the ground before me, I waffled, but only for a moment. I wasn’t going to be dissuaded from walking around my city.

“No thanks, guys. I want to walk home. Get some fresh air after that stuffy bar. It’ll help me sleep.”

“You sure?” Rand asked.

The guys knew me well. Their Uber arrived, and they hopped in.

Marlon rolled the window down before they drove off.

“Be careful, will you?” he urged.

I nodded and turned in the direction of home, rubbing the scar on my chest as if that would make it go away.
