Don't Go Baking My Heart - Page 37

“Alright, well, let me know what time. Anything works for me.”

“It shouldn’t be too late, don’t worry.”

“Late nights don’t worry me, Devon. It’s the best time for fun.”

Ayo and Trina both raised their brows, and Reba grinned.

“Oh, this man doesn’t know what he’s getting into,” Ayo tried to whisper unsuccessfully.

“What was that?” Devon asked.

“Nothing to concern yourself over. Just be ready for me later, that’s all.”

“Reba. You need to stop saying everything like that.” He sounded slightly exasperated. Oh yeah, she was getting to him. She had this bet in the bag.

“Like what? This is my voice.”

“You know what I mean.”

“Hmm, I don’t think I do. Please enlighten me.”

“I’ll let you know what time later.”

Of course, he wasn’t going to call her out on it. Then he would have to admit he was affected in some way.

“Bye-bye.” She hung up, reaching for some fruit while Trina and Ayo continued to look at her, amused.

“Giiirl, just do him, for me. You like giving your friends presents, right?”

Reba almost choked on an orange slice. Ayo wasn’t usually this expressive. “If Devon and I happen to get up to anything, it will be for me, myself, and I only. Sorry.”

Ayo pouted. “A real friend would give me this one thing.”

Reba shook her head. “I think it’s time to cut her off. She’s talking mess.”

Trina topped up Ayo’s glass. “You’ve both come to the wrong place if you think I’m going to discourage any of you.”

Of course, Reba knew that. Trina would enable any of her wild plans because that’s just how they rolled. While Reba kept telling them any sexy plans with Devon wasn’t on her agenda, if something were to go down, well, she wasn’t going to run the other way.

Devon was so controlled. It made her naughty mind wonder just what she could do to get him to unravel. The possibilities were endless.
