Reba

“Boy,if you don’t stop trying to hassle this DJ...”

“But he playing shit. You hear how he bring in that song after the Bunji? What was that?”

“Keiran Matthew King.”

“Yes, my love?”

Reba giggled at their antics. “Is that really your middle name?”

“It isn’t. In fact, I get a new one every two weeks.”

Cherisse made a face, and Keiran looked so whipped. They really were too cute. The party had been going for about an hour now, and already Keiran was trying to take over from the DJ she had asked for a favour.

Granted, he was right about those transitions, but Reba thought Flex was just a little nervous. He would get in the groove soon. Either way, she was happy to have Cherisse back. Boss lady was glowing. Not just from her newly acquired tan, but she and Keiran looked so damn happy.

It made her all warm and fuzzy inside. Provided a nice little distraction, too. Otherwise, she would be looking out for another King who had gone MIA as soon as she had arrived.

Devon had taken one look at her, said a brief hello, then just turned and walked back into the house. She would be offended had it not been for the way he had frozen and swept her from head to toe before speed walking away. He’d only seen the front of her—she was dying for him to see the back. Because there was none to speak of.

The black bodysuit dipped all the way down to her waist in the back, meeting the top of her glittery gold miniskirt.

“Where’s Devon?” Keiran asked, looking around for his brother too. “He really about to disappear at his own party?”

Reba nodded. “Yeah. He did say it’s really your mom’s party.”

“Hmm, I shouldn’t be surprised, but he could come tell that DJ to let me take over. Since it’s his house, he has authority.”

Cherisse rolled her eyes. “We’re not staying here long. I’m tired.”

“Yeah, I did that, didn’t I?” He wiggled his brows, and Cherisse poked him in the arm.

“Glad you two had fun and good weather too.” They had definitely gotten lucky, considering they were into the rainy/hurricane season. “You should try some dessert. Devon made them.”

“Oh, really? You two are really doing this baking thing, huh?”

“Yup.”

“That all?”

Cherisse perked up at Keiran’s question, eyes brimming with questions too.

Reba pressed her hand to her chest. “Mr. King, are you asking if I seduced your brother? Whyever would you think such a thing of me?”

“That’s not a no, is it?” Cherisse piped up, brow raised.

Damn, they were going to tag-team her? “Well, you see, it’s not even like that at…”

“Reba.”

His voice behind her felt like a whole hand skimming down her bare back. Oh yeah, he’d definitely gotten a glimpse of her bare skin now since she was facing Keiran and Cherisse.

“Well, there he is. Where you been hiding? I need to ask you about this DJ. He need to…”

“I’m here for Reba,” Devon cut Keiran off.

The crotch of her bodysuit had to be damp because what was Devon on with that voice right now?
