Micah chuckled. “Okay little miss matchmaker, you can’t get upset over them needing some alone time when you practically forced them together.”
“Whatever.”
“Have him call me in the morning. And let him know I found Izzy.”
“Um... see, I can’t do that because technically he doesn’t know I know, and he doesn’t know I have his phone right now. Maybe you can just text him.”
Isabel couldn’t help but laugh. Teenage girls are hard enough, but one who is smart enough to hack a laptop at age seventeen and you have a lot to handle.
“Fine, I’ll text him.”
“Wait! Izzy, you didn’t tell me if you forgave him yet.”
“I haven’t forgiven him yet, but I was about to... then the phone started ringing.”
“Oh crap. Sorry.”
“Watch your language, please,” Micah interrupted.
“Crap isn’t even a bad word.”
“Are we going to argue about cursing now?”
“Nope! I’m going to hang up, so Izzy will forgive you. Bye!”
Isabel looked down at the phone that went dark then up at Micah with a smile. “Well, that was fun.”
“Were you really going to forgive me?”
“Maybe.”
“That’s not fair, you just told Jenny you were going to,” he said, shifting their positions and pulling Isabel down on top of him.
“I just don’t know... maybe I will... maybe you need to work for it.”
Micah rolled them over and pinned her under his hard body. “Forgive me.”
“No.”
“Forgive me,” he said, placing a quick kiss on her lips.
“Why?”
“Forgive me,” he kissed her again.
“For what?”
“For Sofia, and the red skirt bimbo.” he said, leaning down until their foreheads were touching and she could feel his warm breath combining with hers, “I should have told you that night about Sofia.”
“I forgive you for now.”
“I’ll take it.”
They spent the rest of the afternoon lazing around the hotel room. Something about being removed from Miami and still with Micah gave Izzy a thrill. There were no distractions there, and no one that could hurt them while they were in their little bubble. When the disturbing thoughts of what his family had done or what the firm had been used for crept into her mind, she turned them off immediately. She wasn’t ready to process that mess of information, so instead she gave into her heart and let herself fall under the spell of the man who was holding her like he’d never let go.
