I pound my head against the wall. “Is she very upset?”
“Embarrassed, mostly. She’ll be all right.”
“Is she ready to meet Sabine?”
Frederick winces. “I think so.”
“Dennis,” I call to the theater manager, who’s currently chatting with a frazzled-looking chorus girl by the ticket box. “Fetch Sabine for me? She’s in my office.”
I turn back to Frederick and take a bolstering breath. “I’m going back in.”
He laughs. “Best of luck. Shall I join you?”
“Please.”
