“I don’t know–”

“No, you wouldn’t,” he cut me off, still smiling with that creepy ass grin. “We made sure you knew nothing, so you wouldn’t know your true purpose. Not until it’s too late. But don’t worry, Elney. With your lips wrapped around a cock like his, I am sure you won’t care anymore.”

Calvin smiled and closed the gap between us, his hand darting forward, but not to my nipple. To the swollen lips between my legs and the dampness that still cling to me there. I stiffened at his touch, his fingers invasive as he scooped up the wet and brought it to his nose, his eyes closing as he sniffed it.

“Beautiful,” he sighed, and then licked his fingers. My chest tightened and recoiled, every feeling the exact opposite of what I had felt when Greer had done that.

When Logan had spanked me.

My thighs clenched together, my breath catching as I took a step back.

“Where is Logan?”

“Gone, Elney. He wasn’t the one for you. You have such wonderful things ahead, and I’ll get to watch them all.”

“No--” The single word choked my throat, Calvin’s smile turning into a smear of greed.

“See you soon.” He gave me a wink as he turned, disappearing into the shadows near the elevator and leaving me alone in the blistering cold.

Standing there. Alone. Empty.

All of the gooey joy melted away at the bitter honesty Calvin had left me with.

Logan was gone.

Except that I knew he wasn’t. All those pieces and all those things he had said when he had spanked me were starting to make sense.

He had said he would find me. He had said he would come back.

I only hoped it would be soon. Because it was his cock I wanted inside of me, not that of the man who was staring at me, slowly stroking himself.

“Come back to bed,” Alan said, his smile gleaming even in the dark. “Come back and I’ll tell you a secret.”

“A secret?” My already frayed nerves sparked painfully at the word.

“Yes. You really don’t know what he was talking about do you? About what you are, or I guess… what you might be.”

I had been half way across the floor back to him, but my feet felt like lead at that. I stared at him.

“You don’t know why so many of us came up here for the auction do you?” he asked, his eyes blinking sideways as he smiled.

“What are you--” I took a step forward, not daring to believe I had heard him correctly.

“We are here because we have a chance at bedding the Queen of the underworld, because we have a chance to rule with her.”

“Excuse me?” I hadn’t expected that.

He laid back on the headboard, his inky skin glistening in the dim light. Even through the dark I could clearly see the smug grin on his face.

“When Lilith, the King of all monsters, was killed; they vowed to come back in a hundred years and birth the next generation of the damned. So, here we are, a hundred years later; and here you are, born right on time. That’s why so many were here, that’s why this auction was a celebration for us all. And I was the lucky one who won you…”

“You think I am Lilith reborn?” My mouth felt dry around the words. “That’s silly. It’s all silly. This year’s auction was so big because it was the hundredth anniversary of Aldric’s leaving, of him creating the auctions–”

“Yes, and why do you think he left?” He paused as if I was going to answer. “We chased him out after he killed Lilith.”

“He killed…” I was aware I knew very little, but now I was realizing just how little was little.

“Yes, and whoever finds Lilith will have the pleasure of presenting her back into the underworld, of ruling alongside her, and tracking down Aldric so we can return with his head on a pike.”
