Not Half Plaid (Bad in Plaid 2) - Page 71

“But now ye have a second chance at life.”

He shook his head slightly. “A chance to be useful, here with ye. If I’d ever thought of a son, I would’ve assumed he’d be a fighter like me. But now I ken I’d be happy to have him be a baker like his mother.”

Goodness, this was getting serious, wasn’t it? She pushed herself up so she could look him in his eyes. “Or the world’s best carrot-peeler, like his Da?”

Brodie snorted a laugh and wrapped both arms around her. “Aye, lass. I want to make a bairn with ye.”

“And I want to bear yer children, Brodie. But mayhap…”

His lips twitched upward wryly. “Mayhap no’ just yet, aye? Let one of yer sisters bear a son first, so we can be happy and free down in yer kitchens.”

With an impish grin, she wriggled against him. “I like the sound of that. And dinnae get me wrong, I adored what we just did, but ye have promised to teach me all the ways to find pleasure without impregnating me.”

One of his brows rose. “All of the ways, lass?”

“Aye, and remember, I have access to a manual. So I shall be cross-checking yer performance.”

With a mighty sigh, he rolled, taking her with him, until she was pinned beneath him. “Well, I suppose my lady wife has demands, and she’ll be keeping score.” He managed to sound put-upon, even as he began to slide down her body, a wicked gleam in his eyes.

When he reached her belly and paused to place a kiss on her navel, she was already breathless. “I’ll definitely be taking notes,” she gasped.

His lips found her curls and her legs fell open, as if of their own accord.

“Number one,” he murmured, before his tongue stroked across her pearl.

She sighed, “I love ye, husband.”

His only reply was a hum, which made her gasp with pleasure.
