I cry out partially in shock and partially in anger, but it does nothing to stop the intensity with which I cum.
Screaming, shaking, and crying, my hair plastered to my face, I give in to the wanton thoughts of Alessandro DeLuca driving himself deeper and deeper inside me.
I have to get in his head. I have to complete the mission because only then can I stop this insane game that I’m playing.
The knock I hear at the door is unexpected. I climb out of the tub and wrap myself in my robe before rushing to the door.
Peering through the curtains covering the glass door, I’m surprised to see Alessandro standing on the other side. He’s smiling and lifts his arms, showing a couple of bags.
I glance down at my robe, prepared to ignore him, and then I change my mind. Quickly removing the locks from the door, I pull it open just enough for him to slide in.
“Hey, I wasn’t expecting you,” I say, trying to play it cool.
“I know. I’ve been away on business and wanted to see you as soon as I returned.”
“You cooked?” I ask, looking down at the bags in his hands.
“No, but I can. I have a cook who does most of my cooking, but my mother made these dishes.”
“Mm, homemade Italian. I can’t begin to think of how delicious this might be,” I say, following him as he sets the bags on the table.
“She’s the best cook in all of Cagliari; I can promise you that. But don’t tell my cook, Serena, I said that.”
Delicious aromas waft to tease my nose, eliciting a rumble from my belly that reminds me that I haven’t eaten since breakfast.
“What’s in there?” I ask.
“Mushroom carbonara, Florentine steak, Caprese chicken, stuffed pasta shells, a chopped salad, brussels sprouts with cranberry mostardo, caponata with pine nuts, eggplant parmesan, and if all else fails, there’s lasagna.”
My mouth hangs open, watching him place all these dishes on my little table. “Your culture really does love food.”
Laughing, he says, “We do, but I wasn’t sure what you like. So, Ma suggested we give you a variety to choose from.”
“You told your mother that you were visiting me.”
The silence is deafening as he stares at me with a curious expression. Alessandro takes my hand and stares into my eyes.
“Mila, I told you that I am a straightforward man. There’s no time for games in my world, and I have no time to waste. I have an empire I’m building, and I’ve been thinking of what I want that empire to look like for some time now. Years have been wasted, and I haven’t made a move because I haven’t found the one to head that empire by my side. But who knows? I might be looking at her now,” he says.
Frustration furrows my brow, and I pull my hand free to cross my arms over my breasts. “Wait a minute. You take me on a few dates, sex me out of my mind, up and disappear as soon as it’s done, no ‘thank you,’ or anything, and then you return talking about me being a permanent fixture in your life? I don’t get you, Ales, and it doesn’t make sense,” I say.
“I’m not trying to scare you off, Mila. But damnit, I want you. Leaving right after sex wasn’t a cruel act. A man in my position sometimes has business to handle that I can’t explain. I already had a meeting planned for that night, and staying here with you….” he says, stroking my cheek. “Having sex with you made me late. That cost me money. But you were worth it. I had no choice but to leave after we were done to make sure I didn’t lose any more money.”
“I can’t, Ales. You’re a complicated, dangerous man, and though what we have is amazing…you’re not a safe bet for me.”
“Your safety would always be my priority. I won’t let a worry like that come between me and what I want.”
“What about what I want, Alessandro?” I stare back into his fiery gaze with an equally fiery one. “You can’t just meet a woman and expect her to turn her life upside down a few weeks later and give up her life to take on yours.”
“You would have no regrets, I promise.”
“I’m not so sure about that,” I say in a tiny voice.
My heart thumps loudly in my chest as he pulls me closer to him, his large hands wrapping around my waist.
“What is it that you want?”
“You. To be mine.”
