“You don’t need to, but if it makes you feel better.” I explain to everyone who Quinn is. I keep it short and sweet. No need to go into details.
“Let me speak to my brother first,” Dino says, after I finish. The deep furrow in his brow tells me he’s not keen on my idea. “Razor might just be getting cold feet.”
I raise my shoulders into a shrug. Like I give a fuck.
“Can you speak to Quinn anyway? It’d be good to have that kind of resource at our disposal,” Lorcan asks, green eyes regarding me stoically across the room.
I give a nod. “I’ll need to meet with her, but yes.”
“You’re not going alone.” Dino butts in.
“I’ll go with her,” Jude says, quickly. He smirks and glances my way. Better Jude than Dino? I fucking don’t know anymore.
“Fine,” I say. “But I’m driving.”
Out of habit, I stare at my phone. There are no messages After the stunt Dante pulled today, I’m expecting something from him. A taunt. A challenge. A hint of what he wants from me.
Anything.
I don’t have to wait long.
It takes Dante all of ten minutes to find me.
He walks into the library, flirts with the librarian, and then surveys the room. Our eyes meet, and it’s the old Dante looking right at me. His arctic blue eyes penetrate through my carefully placed mask, making me reveal a cold smile back. I’ve no idea what the hell he's playing at.
Only one way to find out.
