A Promise of Torment (A Violent Agenda)

“What do you mean by that?”
She laughs so I squeeze until she chokes. I would love nothing more than to press down until she turns bloody blue.
“Lily, where did you take Rebecca?”
“I don’t fucking know,” she says. “All I did was wheel her into the van.”
Then I do need to speak to Griffin.
I release my grip but before I let her go, I slip my free hand into her pocket and pull out a vial of clear liquid. When she was undressing, I saw her palm it and then slip it into her pocket.
“And this?”
Her gaze flicks to my hand and I loosen my grip so she can speak. “Just a little Love Tap for the Duke,” she says grinning back at me.
“A date rape drug?” I shake my head. “Lily, who gave this to you?”
She zips up her mouth and throws away the key, all smiles without her teeth showing.
There’s a knock on the door. Finally, someone that fucking knocks.
I let her go, dropping her onto the bed. “Dino is going to take you home.” Lorcan isn’t getting within three feet of this girl.
Her face brightens up. “Is he the fuckable redhead?”
I ignore her question, take the vial and put it into my own pocket.
There are red marks on her neck where I held her. I know I should feel bad about that but I don’t. She makes no move to ease them. She’s been through worse. We all have.
There’s another knock.
“Come in,” I say, turning around.
Finn, Dino, and Lorcan walk in. I give Dino a look to say, ‘Why the fuck is Lorcan here?’ but he doesn’t seem to notice. Dino’s eyes dart between me and Lily who is still half sprawled on the bed. “I brought everyone.”
Lorcan gives me a cool, callous look, and then darts a gaze to Lily. “Your cousin?”
I sigh and nod, turning to Dino and Finn. “Can I trust you two to get her home,” I say, looking at them both.
“I’d rather stay here,” Lily says, staring at them all almost star struck. “With him.” She smiles at Lorcan.
“Well, you can’t. You’re going home with the fuckable redhead instead,” I say.
She shrugs. “Fine by me.”
Lorcan frowns, Finn snorts a laugh, and Dino just looks confused.
“Come on,” Dino says, letting out a breath. He walks over and guides Lily out by her shoulders. As he passes me, he pauses. “Lorcan’s going to stay with you in case Kristian comes back while I’m gone.”
“Just don’t let Lily out of your sight,” I reply.
After they’ve gone, It’s just me and Lorcan.
Alone.
“For someone who wants nothing to do with me, you’re doing a pretty piss poor job of it.”
Lorcan narrows his eyes and glares, then after a few seconds exhales. “Dino told me why you stayed. Why didn’t you tell me?”
