Lorcan is the only one who notices, and he grabs my hand. “Use me,” he says softly. “If you need to hurt someone, I’m here.” I study him and after a few seconds, I nod. He knows me. I forget that we lived together for a while, and he got to know my quirks as much as I came to understand his. Lor was the only one who got that I occasionally needed an outlet.
He’s not the only one, Viola. What happened between you and Dante yesterday was exactly that. D understanding you.
Dino on the other hand…The asshole is glaring at me like I killed his kitten.
Quinn too for that matter.
She throws me a dark look. “This doesn’t mean I agree with what you and that psycho did, but…” She glances at Pascal, softening her features to address the girl. “Tell Viola what you told me.”
Pascal stares at the floor and just when I think she’s going to vomit over her shoes, she speaks. “They think I don’t know but I do.”
“Know what?” I say, a little too abruptly.
Pascal trembles. Immediately, I want to grab the girl and shake her.
“It’s okay, Pascal. No one here will hurt you. I’ll make sure of that,” Quinn says. She flicks me a shitty gaze as she says it. Dino is right. There’s something wrong with me.
Eventually, Pascal’s eyes seek mine. They’re brimming with fear. I should feel sorry for her but all I feel is contempt. “It’s Lily. After we left that house, we swapped numbers and kept in touch. We were supposed to meet a few days later because Lily thought she knew where Rebecca was and wanted to check before we came to you guys, but I saw them grab her and take her.”
“Who took her?” I say, keeping my voice level, trying not to be a bitch.
“I don’t know, but she sent me a text.” She looks at me. I confiscated her phone, but I gave it to Dino. We all wait while he fumbles around in his pocket for it. All the while, I’m using Lorcan’s hand to channel my newfound anger. Although it’s not new, it’s old. There’s just more of it now than there was. A lot more.
Dino hands it to Pascal who unlocks it, finds the message, and hands it back to Dino. He swears under his breath when he reads it.
He passes it to me.
It’s a text message from Lily alright, sent late last night.
I’m sending this before they take my phone. I’m okay. With Aunty Rebecca. Send help to that place I told you. I was right. Kinky shit going down here.
I read it out.
“Now we know why Griffin wanted to see Pascal,” Quinn says.
“Like I give a fuck about Griffin,” I say, walking up to Pascal. I hand her back her phone, and then duck down in front of her. The girl winces but doesn’t back away. She instantly goes up in my estimation. Although I also want to scream at her for not coming to me sooner, but the logical part of my brain kicks in. She didn’t know how to get in touch with me. She only had Lily, and Lily was gone.
“Where did Lily say she thought they had Rebecca?”
Pascal gnaws her lip. “White Jade Casino.”
“Motherfucker,” Lorcan scowls.
Pascal’s eyes widen as she takes in Lorcan and his language. “Is that bad?” she asks.
I don’t know what to say to the girl, so I just shake my head and straighten up. The girl is fifteen but she acts younger. When I was fifteen, I was selling pharmaceutical drugs to keep myself off the streets. I was never this young. Ever.
Quinn shakes her head at Pascal. “It’s not bad. It’s good. You did good. Now come on. Let’s find you a room and see if any of my pajamas fit you.”
“Quinn,” I say.
She looks back.
“Make sure there’s no tracker on her phone.”
She nods and walks out after Pascal.
I wait until they’re out of the room to stalk over to my wardrobe to find some appropriate wear for slaughtering every last one of Kato’s men.
