One day, very soon, I will kill that motherfucker.
Gigi callssome of the orderlies. They strap me to a bed and wheel me back into the rear of the facility. I know I’m back in Hades because the walls are blue. They take me to a room very much like the one I found Jude in, a segregation unit designed to cut off all mental stimulation.
They drug me some more and leave me strapped to the gurney in the dark as they kick in. And soon, I can’t tell if it’s hours or days, morning or night. I don’t even know if I’m dreaming or awake. I must be mostly dreaming, though, because the boys visit me a lot in between the nurses coming to change my IVs and sheets. Lorcan is there, telling me he’s done with me. Jude turns up and screams at me for running his life. And also Dino, who is covered in blood. He just stares. He doesn’t say a word.
I drift in and out of it, telling the fucktards to leave me alone and get out of my head. But they never leave me alone. They love tormenting me.
Assholes.
Even their dream selves are absolute pricks.
Dante showing up one day is the worst because he just frowns, and then he tries to get me to stand up. I snarl at him and try to scratch his eyes out, but he easily holds me down.
“I hate you,” I slur at him.
“I know you do,” is all he says back.
Dream Dante is a pussy. He picks me up and carries me off, away from the darkness. I lean into him, listening to the thud of his chest, inhaling the chemicals and petrol that make up his unique cologne.
“You’re very real for a fucking dream,” I say to him, allowing my eyelids to close as the overhead lights burn the backs of my retinas.
“And you’re a mess. Is this what happens when I leave you alone? Fucking hell, V, I taught you better than this.”
A smirk tugs at my lips. Finally, dream Dante is being an asshole.
Of course, it’s just a dream. Why would it be anything else?
Now I can bloody sleep.
