LORCAN
Viola is trying not to keep secrets, but she’s been doing it her entire life. I have no idea what she’s decided to do to get Dino back on board. Quite fucking honestly, I don’t want to know. But I agree with her we need him with us in order for her plan to work. However, to get to him, she needs to be in the same room as him.
And since the fucker isn’t seeing us...
Once Viola tells her father that she’s on for the wedding, it’s like everything snowballs toward the big event. Three of Adrien’s men turn up the next day to escort Viola to her father’s estate. The last time she went home, she didn’t nearly come back. I’m not fucking happy with the way things are going but I have no choice but to grit my teeth and watch while my girl leaves.
“It’s only for a couple of weeks,” she says, leaning in to kiss me on the mouth the next morning. “And then you’ll be there for the rehearsal dinner.”
She tastes of peaches and smells of spring walks by the lake. I groan into her mouth as she grabs my cock in her hand and gives me a hard tug. How can I let her just walk out of here?
Jude is waiting for her outside, so I reluctantly let her go. When she proposed going alone at first, until the week of the wedding, I was dead against it. But she’s right, I have to learn to trust her too.
And Dino. He’d better make sure nothing fucking happens to her.
Or I will personally…
Fuck. Him. Up.
The only reason I’m letting her go is that I still believe in him. As much as Sinner is acting like a prick right now, I know my best friend is still fucking in there and that he won’t let Adrien hurt her. He will come through. I just have to have faith.
And I have to let Viola go, even if it kills me.
Viola’s the one always saving us, but it should be the other way around. We’re the ones who should be guiding her back when she’s lost or losing it, and be there for her every single time, no matter what. I will be. Even if I have to endure her torturing someone every fucking day for the rest of my life.
God so help me, I’m in love with a girl who likes to cut eyelids off people.
After she’s gone, I send a message to Sin on his old number, just to make sure he heeds my fucking demand to see that she’s kept safe. He’s not been reading or picking up any of the messages I sent him before, but as I said, he’ll come around.
Or I’ll fucking kill him if he doesn’t.
If anything happens to her,
I’m holding you fucking personally responsible.
I get one back straight away.
Still a controlling cunt, I see. Don’t you worry, mate.
I’ll see that she’s well looked after.
I’m livid at his attitude, but I let it slide. He has a stick up his ass for some fucking unknown reason but knowing Viola, she’ll sort him out.
“This is goingto come back and bugger us up the arse this is,” Jude grimaces as we drive to see Grandfather.
We’ve piled into Jude’s Aston so we can take Byron and his wheelchair with us. In order to put the kid back on the will, Gordon and his troupe of lawyers want to see him in person. The poor sod hasn’t had any fucking rest since he got out, but at least he’s out.
“Fucking Joseph,” Saskia snarls from the back seat. “This is all his fault.” I don’t correct her. He really did a number on this fucking family.
“What I don’t get,” she carries on as we get out of the car, drawing me behind the others once I’ve helped Jude with Byron’s chair. “Is why he adopted us in the first place?”
“We’re Edrei Savino’s kids,” I say with a shrug.“Joseph was using us to form an alliance with the Camorra mob, maintaining his control over The Five, and promising Savino a slice of the Duke empire if I inherited.”
“And why fake Byron’s death?” she asked.
Jude is wheeling Byron up front, and the teenager is talking the fucking leg off him about football. He has no idea that Jude lost his place on the team after the school started clamping down on drugs, but Jude hasn’t said a word to the kid about that. I wait until they’re out of earshot to reply to my sister.
“It only way Joseph could protect his nephew from Savino. And ensure I inherited everything.”
