Ain't No Sunshine - Page 13

I hold my breath, gripping Nate’s shirt as he moves my panties to the side and runs a finger along my core. “Fuck, Cory. I…” he trails off with a groan as he dips a finger inside me and rubs me at the same time. It’s too much for me to handle. I want it to last longer, but tonight’s been one long session of foreplay and, “Yes! Nate. Yes.” My entire body tightens as I explode around him. He grunts a few curse words before smothering my cries of pleasure with a bruising kiss.

The second my body stops pulsing and I can see straight, I slide my ass backwards and reach for the button on Nate’s jeans, sucking on his neck as I go. “Cory, Fuck. No, please. Yes.”

What is he asking? My mind is too hazy to understand.

With the zip down, I slip my hand inside and massage his length. When I realize I’m not getting anywhere this way, I stand and pull him to his feet before dropping to the floor in front of him.

“Oh, Fuuuck!” Nate groans and grabs my face in his hands. “Wait! Not like this; I want to be inside you. I need…”

I freeze at his words while, at the same time, a pulse runs straight to my core in anticipation. My mind and body are completely at odds as to what I want. I try to ignore my mind, to take what my body so desperately seeks, but I can’t.

“Nate, I’m sorry…” My head drops, and my eyes well with tears. Why can’t I do this?

“Hey. No.” Nate says, gently lifting my chin with his index finger until my eyes meet his. “How many times do I have to tell you? I’ll wait.”

He starts to lower himself to the floor to be level with me, but I stop him and wrap my lips around his length. “Argh! Shit,” he yells out, not expecting my attack. “Cory, no. You don’t need to… Ah, fuck.”

He tries to pull out of my mouth, but I grip his ass and pull him into me, working him to the point of no return. His breaths become ragged, and I love the feeling I get knowing he’s under my control.

He falls to a heap on the floor in front of me as soon as he’s found his release, and then pulls me into a crushing hug. “You did not have to do that. But God, was it good.”

I giggle, then rise, pulling him up with me and walking him toward my bedroom. “Will you stay?” I ask. “To sleep?”

A nervous expression briefly crosses his face, but he smiles and nods, following me inside.

After another heavy make-out session in the morning, Nate left for a run with the guys from his team.

I’m a morning person, so I get up and start my day not long after he’s gone.

It’s hours later before Summer comes moping into the room, looking worse for wear.

“Big night?” I ask, even though I know the answer. I heard her talking to Nate in the early hours of morning when she was just getting home.

“Big? No. Late? Yes.” She heads straight for the coffee I prepared earlier and pours herself a cup. “As you know, I ran into Nate this morning.”

“And…” I raise an eyebrow and smirk.

“And he stayed over?” She says it like a question, but that’s not really what she’s asking.

“Yes, he stayed over.”

“That’s great, Cory. I know that’s a big deal for you, and I’m sorry I haven’t been here—”

“Oh, we haven’t… we didn’t.” I interrupt, but then cut myself off.

Summer’s brows furrow in confusion, but she recovers quickly. “Sorry, Nate said something… Never mind. Are you still worried about him? He’s a good one, Cory.”

“I know. I know! I just can’t seem to get past the bullshit in my head. I heard what Nate said to you, and he was alluding to us doing other things, not the actual thing.” I smirk but also feel myself blush.

Summer laughs and is about to say more, but I cut her off, not wanting to talk about it. Before last night, I would have wanted to spill every last detail. But now, I’m just embarrassed that I can’t seem to get my shit together.

“I’m sure I’ll get there,” I say with a smile. “I just need to keep telling myself that, like you said, he’s a good one.” I hope. Thoughts of his ex-girlfriend come to mind, but I push them back down. ”Anyway, let’s move on.”

“Okay,” Summer says with a frown. Despite me thinking she’d be glad to avoid a deep conversation, based on her recent disappearing act, she actually seems a little reluctant to drop it, so I change the subject just in time for Nate to return for our Sunday movie afternoon.
