Ain't No Sunshine

Two were in my first year. I didn’t think she’d get that, considering she was still a sophomore in high school.
“I can’t move back any further. You’ll have to answer two correctly before you can move forward.”
I roll my hand to signal for her to ask me, then remember we’ve both lost our sight. Not just me. Clearing my throat, I say, “Ask away.”
“Have I ever dyed my hair?”
“No,” I answer quickly. That’s an easy one.
“Okay, I gave you that one. When did Summer and I last fight?”
Damn. Those two are close as close can be. Even when Cory started spending more time with me and Summer distanced herself, I could still see the love they had for each other. This is tricky. It’s a complete guess. “After she moved in with you in high school?”
Summer had a falling out with her family, no one knows why, but she moved in with Cory and her family when she was sixteen. Cory huffs out a laugh. Guess that means I’m wrong.
“Good try, but we fight more often than that. We had a huge blow-up last year when she started staying out all night. I got worried when she didn’t call, and we fought about the fact that I was treating her like a child.”
I’m about to speak when Cory adds, “I won that fight, and to this day, she texts any night she’s not coming home.”
I laugh, hearing the smirk in her voice, and shake my head.
“Okay, my turn. I need some wins. What age did I lose my first tooth?”
“Ah, come on. Six?”
“Ha! Five. I’m moving closer.”
This goes on for another thirty minutes. Every time I think I’m going to reach her, she throws out some ridiculous question, and I move a few inches away. It’s safe to say that my forward movements are definitely bigger than my backward ones, but since she can’t see me, she’s never going to know. Ha. I’m so smart, and twelve, apparently.
Cory takes a deep breath, like she’s preparing herself for something, and when she asks her next question, I’m completely thrown. “How many times have I pleasured myself since we started the no intimacy rule?” Her voice is breathy, changing the energy in the room in an instant.
Fuck!
My heart rate picks up as my shorts tighten. I wasn’t even aware she’d ever done that. I mean, I know girls do, but we’ve talked about it, and the question has always embarrassed her. And, she’s always said no. My gut says to answer none, that she’s just teasing, but for some reason, I try another response. “Three,” I squeak out, immediately clearing my throat. “Once a week. So, three,” I say again and wait for her reply.
Cory doesn’t say a word, but I feel the couch shift as she moves closer to me. Fuck! I’m right. My mind conjures up images of how that might look, and my shorts grow so tight it hurts.
“Sa… same question for you,” I say, just above a whisper.
Cory intakes a sharp breath and then sighs. I’ve never been so desperate to see her. “Daily,” she says, and I thank my lucky stars that she’s wrong. I move closer, causing a buzz of energy to zap between us.
“How many then?” she asks, her voice quivering. She’s definitely as affected by this as I am.
“Is that my question?” I ask, hopeful that it is so I can move even closer.
“Yes,” she rasps, and I groan.
“None,” I answer. “Not once. I’ve been punishing myself for putting us through this. I want the next hand, the only hand to touch me, to be yours.”
Cory moans, sliding closer to me at the same moment I move to her. We both stop before we touch. We’re so close, I can almost feel her nose brushing against mine as her breath warms my cheek. My whole body comes alive as I feel her beside me.
“Your turn,” she whispers.
“If I could touch you anywhere on your body, right now, where would you want me to touch?” It’s not a question about me, and technically breaks the rules of the game, but so did hers, so she better allow it.
I hear shuffling around, but have no idea what she’s doing. My pulse quickens to a scary speed, and my hands clench beside my legs to stop myself from touching her. “Maybe here?” she whispers in a husky voice. I groan uncontrollably. Oh, Hell. Is she touching herself? “Or maybe here?” she continues, and my body shudders with need.
“You’re killing me, Cory. Please, tell me what you’re doing? Where is your hand?” My voice bleeds desperation. This isn’t a want. I need to know the answer.
