“Tell me more about this pair bond. We haven’t had much of an opportunity to study it within the city. What does it mean? Specifically, what does it mean between you, me, and your brother?” I asked then.
“It means that Raven is our mate for life. The three of us are now bonded to her and can take no other mate for the rest of our lives. She’s ours to share,” he answered.
His eyes met mine then.
“If she loses one of us, it will break her,” he added.
“So, we’re allies then now,” I replied reluctantly.
“Yes. And our only goal is to keep our mate safe,” he countered. “In order to do that, we need to leave here as soon as we can. Whoever attacked you would know that you’d be here for several days. They’d have made preparations. They’ll be coming.”
I nodded in agreement.
My link to Raven pulsed. I could feel her happiness and I knew what we had to do.
Even if these two men had nefarious intentions, one thing was certainly true. Raven couldn’t remain here in our den any longer. We had to move.
