She had better not mean Zyr Toxfylt. Though the more he thought about it, the more he thought it had to be Zyr. She had just arrived on Ulfgard. How many friends could she have?

But when the lobby doors opened, she was nowhere to be found.

“Here’s your package, Captain Rivvor,” Deerborne said politely, handing him a plain brown box.

He opened it at the counter, wondering who would have left him a package.

He lifted out a gossamer fine garment so tiny and delicate it looked like a spider web negligee for a pixie.

Dropping it quickly back into the box, he checked the label.

While the address was his, the memo said For April.

His blood boiled with fury and lust as he imagined his sweet April naked, the strands of this tiny garment the only thing between her innocent flesh and his raging cock.

Whoever left this for her was thinking the same.

“Did you get the name of the person who left this?” he asked Deerborne, his voice a growl.

“No, sir,” Deerborne replied. “The afternoon staff accepted it during my dinner break, but neglected to call up for you, and they’re long gone now. Should I call them at home.”

But Khall had already figured it out.

The gift was obviously from Zyr. He had probably purchased it for her and left it at the desk after their zoo trip.

The devilish bastard was probably expecting her to have it on right now, for their date. And if it weren’t for the laziness of the afternoon desk staff, she might have obliged him.

“April just left, do you know where she went?” he asked, not bothering to ask about Toxfylt. He figured Deerborne would answer if the question was about Khall’s employee - but he might remember his pledge of discretion if he asked about anyone else.

“I believe her destination was a club called On the Howl,” Deerborne murmured.

The doorman’s light tone told him he knew how Khall would take this news.

“Please keep an ear out for my daughters,” Khall said smoothly. “I have to step out for a moment.”

“It would be my honor, sir,” Deerborne replied. “Get her home in one piece, will you? The whole staff is quite fond of her.”
