And he’d be right.
“I completely understand. Try to remember she’s mine if you see her.”
Of everything he’s said that sounded the most out of place and it’s made my temper flare so fiercely I want to snap.
A raw possession takes residence inside me and I want to correct him. I want to tell him she doesn’t belong to him because she’s mine.
He smiles when I don’t answer and pushes to his feet.
“I’m sure you’ll call me if you hear anything,” he says.
“I will.”
With that he walks out of my office and his men follow, leaving the door open.
A few minutes pass and Gayle calls again like she’s instructed to when she thinks there’s been a threat.
She’s been with us for years so she knows the ropes.
I click the button to answer her call.
“He’s gone Mr. Romanov. Is there anything you’d like me to do?” she says.
“No, and thanks.”
When the phone clicks off I looks from Ilya to Maksim.
“He suspects you,” Ilya says with a stern expression.
“I know,” I answer. “I’m sure it will only be a matter of time before he shows his true suspicions.”
I don’t doubt it and I should be worried about that instead of being annoyed at his declaration of Olivia.
When I get home I march right upstairs and find her resting on the bed in a little red slip.
She looked like she was about to drift off to sleep when I came in even though she’s on top of the sheets.
She lifts herself on to her elbows and looks at me when I walk in and the lust in her eyes sets me off.
I don’t say anything. I just go up to her and claim her mouth leaving her gasping when I pull away.
Jealousy rides me and I catch her pretty face so she can look deep into my eyes.
“You are mine, you hear me? Mine,” I say. “Understand?”
“Yes.”
“Good, now take your clothes off and get on your hands and knees.”
