This is the first time I’ve bruised.
“I’m okay,” I tell him quickly. “I like you rough.”
“Not if I hurt you, Bellissima.”
“I’m fine,” I assure him.
He takes both my hands into his and kisses my bruises. “Paige, I get the feeling you’ll allow me to do anything to you.”
“Yes, and no.” I smile. “I love what you do to me. I guess you were right. I have a dark side.”
He scoops me up and pulls me into his arms. We both stare out into the moonlit sky, watching the rain fall. It’s heavier now.
“I want you to only share that with me. Does… that frighten you?” he asks, a whisper in my ear.
I lift my head to look at him. “No. Do you really mean that?”
“Yes, Bellissima.” His answer is filled with so much conviction it seeps into my heart and I fall harder for him.
I fall harder than I could possibly imagine, and when he moves to me to kiss me, I know I’ll never feel this way about anyone else.
I’ve entered a part of the game that I don’t know how to play.
