His father had done his best to rein him in, but Ross had been busy buying the Grizzlies, and Velocity had been expanding at an exponential rate. Cameron and his dad had clashed over curfew and about every damn thing.
If his father had been a stern taskmaster, his grandfather Johnny had been ten times worse. His mother had stayed out of all of it.
Gran had always understood and supported him in ways his parents hadn’t.
Despite his differences with his family, Cameron knew not one of them would think he was capable of hitting someone with his car and then leaving them to die on a deserted roadway.
Though he tried to tell himself that Juin—or June—was only gathering information, that wasn’t how it felt to him.
It was best they go their separate ways.
