pushed open a heavy wood door and there was a king-sized

bed with an antique headboard that was ornately carved.

Antique dressers, all from a different era. So much artwork on

the walls that there was barely space for wall to show. A thick,

heavy rug on the floor that was so big it could have taken up a

whole city block.

Her eyes searched frantically, scanning the room. She was

running out of time, and she knew it. She was already

committed to this. She’d committed when she’d lied about

being engaged to Giana, just hoping she could either search

her house herself or that she’d be able to talk to her about the

necklace and convince her to let her borrow it. It wasn’t a

good plan. It was a crazy, stupid, horrible plan, but somehow it

had worked.

It hasn’t. And you’re on thin damn ice.

Each step into Giana’s personal space felt more and more

wrong. Coralyn went anyway.

She walked to the first dresser, pulled open the top drawer,

and gasped. What the hell? It was full of…things. She knew

what those things were, but it made her face go hot to see

them, and she slammed the drawer shut. It didn’t stop her from

opening a second one, and this time her gasp was even louder.

The first one had contained straps, bonds, whips. The

second had all manner of toys. Strap-ons, things that were

probably butt plugs, but Coralyn wasn’t sure because she’d

never used one. Alright, so she’d never used any of this stuff.

Between having her mom die, trying to work and go to

school at the same time, and then having her dad get sick and

their lives unravelling stitch by stitch until the fabric holding

them together was no longer a garment, but pieces and tatters,
