Falling for Jillian Ashley: A Carlsbad Village Lesbian Romance - Page 43

Amy laughed.

“As if. In fact, I almost moved to Finland when he was elected.”

“Finland?”

“Uh-huh. They always get voted ‘Happiest Country in the World.’ I figured how could I go wrong there?”

“Sensible thinking,” Sally agreed. “But if you had moved to Finland, then I wouldn’t have ever met you and then I wouldn’t be able to do this…”

Amy gasped when, quick as a flash, Sally’s hand was between her legs and two incredibly long fingers were sliding between her slick folds. Moaning, Amy rotated her hips slightly so she could open her legs, submitting to Sally, letting her know she could do what she wanted.

“Fuck Finland,” she murmured, closing her eyes.

Chapter 16

Max was pinching the bridge of his nose, his eyes squeezed shut. He had actually been doing it for nearly five minutes after Sally had stopped speaking and she was beginning to worry that maybe he had suffered a stroke. But she waited patiently. It was the least she could do.

“I would have been better off telling the New York Times,” he finally muttered.

Sally sighed.

“I’m sorry!” she repeated for what felt like the trillionth time.

They were at Max’s house, sitting together on his massive couch. Sally had driven over there right after she and Amy had retrieved their cars from the parking lot behind La Vida Mocha.

The morning had been amazing.

Sally had actually been woken up by Amy eating her out! In fact, she remembered clearly that just before she became fully awake, her last dream had been wildly pornographic—obviously her subconscious’s way of telling her that wildly pornographic things were being done to her in real life, and when she finally snapped out of her slumber, she had already been so close to coming that it had only taken a few more swipes of Amy’s tongue before the orgasm hit her.

Once she’d recovered, she had reciprocated on Amy, deciding also to leave yet another bite mark on her inner thigh. Then they’d had sex in the shower. Sally then loaned Amy one of her dresses—a short one which on Sally was actually short but on Amy looked like a maxi dress—so she wouldn’t have to wear the same clothes as the night before and then cooked a breakfast of scrambled eggs, toast and sausage patties.

Eventually, they had used a Lyft to drive them back to their cars and after making plans to go on another date tonight, separated for the day, Sally deciding to head straight to Max’s.

“After I met her,” she now said after that trillionth apology, “I knew I wanted to keep seeing her and I also knew I wouldn’t want to keep up the lie.”

Max threw up his hands.

“Well, I knew it had to end someday,” he said, getting up from his couch and pacing. “It’s my own fault, really. I’ve seen The L Word. Two cute lesbians get together for coffee, next thing you know they have a joint bank account and nuclear launch codes are being shared.”

“No, check it out…” Sally said, standing up and stopping her friend’s pacing by placing her hands on his shoulders. “Babe, listen…Amy isn’t going to tell anyone that you’re the author of the Jillian Ashley books. She doesn’t want to blow your cover. Besides, it would kind of fuck things up for her and her podcast. And you know I won’t let your secret out.”

Max gave her an incredulous look.

“You already let my secret out, you looney toon!”

“Okay, good point,” Sally conceded. “But I won’t tell anyone else, I promise!” She paused. “Anyway…there’s one other thing. Amy would like to meet you.”

“Meet me?”

Sally nodded.

“No! Nothing doing!” Max exclaimed, stepping away from Sally and resuming his pacing.

Sally’s face fell.

“Why not?” she asked.

“Why not?” Max stopped pacing and glared at her. “Are you outta your mind? It’s clearly an assassination attempt! On behalf of all lesbians worldwide your new sweetheart is going to plunge a dagger into my heart!”
