No More Wasted Time: A Carlsbad Village Lesbian Romance

“So, what?” Becca managed to ask, after taking a couple of swallows.
“Are we going to watch the next movie in here?” Krissy repeated.
“Um…yeah, sure,” Becca said. “Might as well.”
“At least we’ll already be in bed,” Krissy said, getting on the mattress. “Sorry I took so long in the shower. I shaved my legs.”
Becca blinked.
“I shaved my legs too,” she pointed out. “And you’re half my size!”
Krissy, kneeling on the mattress, crossed her arms.
“I am not half your size, Chief Roberts!” Krissy said. “You know what? In my next life, I’m coming back taller than you!”
Becca shifted her weight to one leg and now she crossed her arms.
“Next life?” she asked. “You mean I gotta go through this again with you?”
Krissy glared at her.
“You’re never going to get rid of me,” she stated with a smirk. “This life, next life…you’re stuck with me. Except next time, I’m the tall one.”
Becca placed her stationhouse bag on the floor near the bedroom door and then joined Krissy in bed.
“So let me get this straight,” she said, propping pillows up against the headboard so she could sit up. “Your concept of reincarnation is one in which you get to pick and choose certain attributes about your next body before you’re sent back to Earth? Like, picking from a catalog?”
“Wouldn’t that be cool?” Krissy replied. She had already created her pillow backrest and was sitting cross-legged on the mattress. “I’m definitely going to choose ‘Taller than Becca’ just to piss you off next time.”
“So, the catalog is going to have options to be taller than specific people, no less!”
“Can you prove me wrong?” Krissy challenged.
“Obviously not.”
“What would you pick?”
Becca considered.
“I’ve always wanted green eyes,” she said.
“Aww, I love your brown eyes,” Krissy told her. “What else?”
Becca looked at her.
“I actually might choose to lose a few inches of height. Being a tall woman isn’t always all it’s cracked up to be, you know.”
Krissy nodded.
“Guess I’ll find out since I’m going to be the tall one next time. Anyway, I think you’re lucky you’re gay,” Krissy said. “Tall straight women seem to have a lot of issues pairing up with guys because a lot of guys don’t like tall women—or so I’ve heard. But us lesbians like us some nice tall ladies.”
“Which reminds me,” Becca said, “be sure to pick ‘Lesbian’ when you’re shopping in the Reincarnation Catalog.”
Krissy scoffed.
“It’ll be the first thing I pick!”
They watched Loving Annabelle next. Again, after the movie, they rewrote the ending, as always. This time, Simone escaped from prison, found Annabelle and they moved to Greece where they joined the lesbian fossil-hunting colony founded more than a century-and-a-half ago by Mary and Charlotte from Ammonite.
